The arena is 60 years old and originally designed to accommodate livestock events and with a stage for live entertainment events. Both the stage and the livestock pens behind it appear to now be gone.

Stegman has gone through several renovations over the past twenty-five years or so with the latest being last year (I believe). I think the livestock pens were removed in the 2005 or maybe the 2010 renovations. A few years ago they had to close it because tiles were failing from the ceiling.
It now seats about 10,000 and many of UGA’s schools use it for graduation ceremonies as does both of the largest high schools in the county (Clarke County HS and Cedar Shoals HS).
It’s good to hear that it was used for a revival service and that the place was packed with students.
