Justice Sotomayor is not the brightest bulb in the box, so when she thought she had Team Trump by the you-know-what with her “fraudulent elector” theory, she must’ve felt pretty proud of herself. However, her victory was short-lived because Team Trump flipped the script on her and turned her talking points into ash during the back-and-forth over President Trump’s claim that he has “presidential immunity.”

Sotomayor found herself left holding her crumpled bag of useless talking points once Trump’s lawyers were done with her.

Sotomayor is so brilliant she needed tutoring to get through law school, and basically received a gimme from the bar association. DEI all the way

Really stupid, OK, BUT when appointed to the SCOTUS she knew what a woman was, the last DEI is not a biologist, so she cannot define what a woman is, has never heard of XX or XY chromosomes and would not admit that into evidence as proof of sex/gender in a trial.

Since when did member of the supreme court start and play the prosecutor role.

When we started electing and appointing people into government who essentially hate the America the founding fathers gave us.

Politics can get really ugly, but nobody went to jail for it until the self-serving
Biden came along. Who knew people could be arrested over a political process?

The wily Biden has used govt power to effect bizarre, absurd rules and loopholes that
are twisted, manipulated, turned topsy turvy. Whatever suits Biden’s nefarious purposes.

Duly elected state legislative majorities created the slates of alternative 2020 presidential electors as required by the Constitution. This happened after these legislatures observed state election officials breaking state election laws in several ways, including tampering with voting machines, mailing ballots to random strangers, double counting votes, ejecting poll watchers, vote harvesting....

Arguments don’t matter in front of Sotomayor, her mind is already made up.

The Wide Latina is ignorant just a token.

“Absolutely, your honor,” Trump attorney John Sauer responded. “We have the historical precedent we cite in the lower courts of President Grant sending federal troops to Louisiana and Mississippi in 1876 to make sure that the Republican electors got certified in those two cases, which delivered the election to Rutherford Hayes.”

Sotomayor’s limitations notwithstanding, I hope the Supreme Court Justices are aware of the dangers inherent in prohibiting any challenge to elections and their integrity and to possibly or certainly fraudulent elections.

I still have not heard a cogent explanation of what act or acts committed by the alternate Electors who have been charged with crimes are actually illegal.

I mean, start at the beginning. In 2000, there were persons running for the position of Florida Elector on the ballot pledged to vote for Al Gore.

During all of the controversies, were they not “alternate electors”? By occupying that status, did they commit any crime or crimes?

What did the Michigan people pledged to vote for Donald Trump do that was different?

They forged no documents (as far as I know). No one submitted certificates of ascertainment with their names on it and Gretchen Whitmer’s forged signature, right? They never claimed to have been appointed by a session of the Michigan legislature, did they?

"She asked a question for which she didn’t know the answer. "

We don't read of that happening with Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Alito, Thomas, or Roberts. They are the ones who slam dunk on the unprepared lawyers trying to argue the law. We also don't read of them making absurd statements like guns that "fire 800 rounds per second or whatever."

I wonder if sometimes the males on this court have to suppress groans or laughter listening to the bimbos.

Sotomayor is a glaring example of ideological ignorance and its bearing on facts involving historical precedent.

I doubt Sotiomayor ever took a comprehensive US History course. If she had, she would not have stuck her stinking Marxist size 9 foot into her oral sphincter.

It sure looks good on her.And it sure looks good on Jack (off) Smith.

Sotomayor is relieved that Jackson is even stupider than herself. Although “second stupidest” isn’t much to brag about.

Ummm...desperately in need of context:

Trump Lawyer NUKES Sotomayor’s “Fraudulent Electors” Talking Point at SCOTUS

“Apply it to the allegations here. What is plausible about the president assisting in creating a fraudulent slate of electoral candidates, assuming you accept the facts of the complaint on their face, is that plausible that that would be within his right to do?” Sotomayor asked.

“The notion that is completely implausible, I think, just can’t be supported based on the faces of this indictment or even…” he continued.

“Knowing that the slate is fake, knowing that the slate is fake, that they weren’t actually elected, that they weren’t certified by the state. He knows all those things…” Sotomayor objected.

“The indictment itself alleges, I dispute that characterization. The indictment affixes the word label to the so-called fraudulent lectures. It fixes the word fraudulent, but that’s a complete mischaracterization,” he replied.

“On the face of the indictment, it appears that there was NO DECEIT about who had emerged from the relevant state conventions, and this was being done as an alternative basis,” he concluded.

Thus buries a dishonest partisan Democrat talking point about the “fake electors” plot. It is a Constitutionally authorized process contingent upon the results of Electoral College votes.

This is what the Democrat-controlled media does: Twist the language to promote their political agenda in defiance of the law and the U.S. Constitution.

There’s nothing wrong with alternate electors. There is something wrong with offering a false instrument for filing stating to the effect that they were “duly elected”. That’s what they did and in many cases are getting prosecuted for.

"Duly elected" simply means "properly chosen by voting".

Half the population thinks that's the case. There is no evidence to suggest that these people were signing off on something that they didn't believe.

Please don't make any excuses for these disgusting prosecutions.

You need to do some explaining.   How could an alternate elector be in jeopardy from someone else indicating that they were “duly elected”, and if they had been accepted they would have in actuality been “duly elected.”

"The self-proclaimed “Wise Latina” is actually one of the dumbest SCOTUS justices ever.
Glad she’s on their side."

I'll bet that that page/ assistant gets a talking to about completing all the research.

Re: 36 - What matters is if the state legislature convened and the alternate electors were selected.

That did not happen in -any- state. Several states had alternate electors attesting that they were the duly “authorized” electors, when in fact they were not.

Sure - alternate electors were not selected by the state legislature. Giuliani tried to get Arizona and several other states to convene special sessions of their legislatures to select new electors - not one state did.
