Whatever remained valid in Canadian Conservatism collapsed during the Depression, when the equivalent to New Deal legislation was passed by a Conservative Government.

A second pillar failed when the British Empire collapsed, and any connection to the Monarchy became an archaic joke.

After WW2, the Canadian Elites deliberately positioned themselves as opposed to conservative/Red America.

And the collapse of Christianity completed the unmooring to any traditional thinking.
