Right. Tuberculosis, and many other diseases Americans thought were gone from this country.
A hundred years ago, immigrants entering the United States were examined by doctors at entry points like Ellis Island. Any sign of disease, and back on the boat you went.
I guess such medical examinations are now considered racist.
