US among 8 nations to allow abortion up to birth: ‘In company of brutal communist countries’
Christian Post ^ | 7 May 2024 | Ryan Foley

Despite outrage from pro-choice advocates over abortion bans in some states following the Supreme Court ruling that determined the Constitution doesn't contain a right to abortion, the U.S. remains one of only eight countries that still allow abortion up to birth.

The Charlotte Lozier Institute, the research arm of the pro-life advocacy group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, released a report last week titled “Gestational Limits on Abortion in the United States Compared to International Norms.” The report, an update of findings previously published in 2014, lists the U.S. as one of just eight nations that permit abortions well into the latter stages of pregnancy.

The U.S. is a captured operation.

Elections are stolen. Laws are passed fraudulently.

The people do not support abortion.

This is Stephanie. She was born earlier today.

Yesterday, her mom could have had people kill her.

“The people do not support abortion.”

My neighbor Connie has a bumper sticker to the contrary.

Ironically, overturning Roe V Wade has been a disaster. Under Roe, we had an admittedly horrible national standard but the level of the abortion debate has moved so far to the left of what was considered the extreme limits of the 1970s morality of the court mandated Roe V Wade things have backfired.

The Supreme Court has remanded the abortion issue back to the state level and many states are so radical that they are passing permissive abortion laws that are outright infanticide up to and even defacto after the moment of birth which is actually far worse than the laws under Roe.

Even places like Arizona just repealed the 1864 ban on abortions so now the Arizona Roe law allowing abortion up to 15 weeks ( now disengebously termed "the 15 week ban" by abortion activists) has become the law of the state with an initiative on the ballot in November to provide abortion on demand including "late term abortions"

And among pro-choicers, I don’t imagine there are many who support legalized infanticide.

Elections are not stolen in general.

The Democrats pay voters off with freebies.

The ability of governments to levy income and property tax should be capped in the federal and state constitutions.

I think you are delusional.

The Supreme Court correctly concluded the Federal government has no power to regulate abortions. Such power is left to the States.

The title of this article is very misleading.

Well, you had the State Department exporting the LGBTQ flag all over the world (until recently?)

A nation acting like the Harlot of Babylon, defiantly, is in great peril.

Which means they’re putting us all in peril.

I get that the Court ruled that the federal government can’t legalize abortion as they did it but did they absolutely rule that Congress can’t make abortion illegal?

Agree, but quoting FR poster rdcbn1 “The Supreme Court has remanded the abortion issue back to the state level and many states are so radical that they are passing permissive abortion laws that are outright infanticide up to and even defacto after the moment of birth which is actually far worse than the laws under Roe.”

He has a point.

They ruled that Roe v. Wade was incorrectly decided.

That returned the law back to before Roe v. Wade was decided, where abortion was a state issue.

It is hard to see how abortion could become under federal jurisdiction, unless by an enormous stretch of the Commerce Clause.

However, such a stretch has been made for the EPA and the endangered species act.

Progressives want no limit to federal power. That includes no limit on federal power over the states.

“The people do not support abortion.”

Really? How do you come up with that? It’s not what I am seeing. Ohio just passed an amendment to the Ohio Constitution to make abortion a Constitutional right. “The People” voted for it.

Aren’t there limits to what a state can do to a person, such as the right to kill a domestic servant, or requiring a full face tattoo on all newborns, or that all newly delivered babies have their left hand surgically removed in the delivery room?

The limits are defined in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Capitol punishment has been considered a state police power, but Progressives argue it is prohibited under the prohibition on cruel and unusual punishments.

Before the Constitution, in some colonies, parents had the legal power to kill their children, if the children repeatedly disobeyed.

Children do not have all the rights adults have.

The left claims they want sensible abortions like with rape, medical issues and incest (which I’m Ok with).

What they REALLY want is this (which I’m not Ok with).

But the court decision exempted full term babies from any limits of killing at the federal level?

Babies are in some special zone where their being killed by local government is completely outside of any federal consideration?
