My Comments Made Easier
http://freerepublic.com ^ | 2-10-07 | philman_36

Posted on 02/10/2007 11:46:33 AM PST by philman_36

If anybody even reads this thread I'd like to get some input as to whether or not others think it would be nice to have a system on our "My Comments" pages similar to what there is on the threads (ie...first previous 1-100, 101-200, 201-228 last) grouping the replies. This would make things much quicker when searching for our own replies which contain links and other information that we'd like to review or use again.

Seems like a good idea ... I have a deuce of a time running back through comments to find a link or a reference I want to use again. Maybe I should try to post less. :) [Seems some posters don't catch the humor I intend at times, and they write nasty freepmails to me. Eh, Savage Republican?]

Thanks for the replies. If ya'll think of any others who might like this as well, if it can be done, please ping them as I would like to get a rather broad sampling.
I'm pretty sure Mr. Jim and John would like to see a broader analysis of it as well than with just the few I've pinged so far.

I'm glad to see that I'm not alone it that.

Seems some posters don't catch the humor I intend at times...
I have the same problem.
...and they write nasty freepmails to me.
I don't have that problem.

I'm still waiting for them to finish that page's format since the last big upgrade.

This.....

overload: 50 results shown (prefer 100.)

......has been at the bottom of the page ever since.

I'd like to be able to view 100 instead of 50 replies but I like your idea better.

Good idea - especially if switchable to current system as well.

...and they write nasty freepmails to me.
I don't have that problem.

I had that problem until I made a lengthy and detailed posting on the transgressors shortcomings. The post was pulled, but at the transgressors request. I did finally get left alone, though.

---------

The 'My Comments Made Easier' idea is a good one.

If anyone is taking other suggestions, a spellchecker on the FReepmail wouldn't hurt. :-)

It would he a HUGH help to be able to delete links that are bumped to you that you don't care to see again. I get some things bumped to me that I never click on. I'd like to make them disappear from My Comments, since they never were my comments, much less of interest to me. Something like the delete button in Freepmail would be nice on My Comments page.

Maybe separating "my comments" and "pings", since they are not the same thing.
