Maria Shriver, who has split from husband Arnold Schwarzenegger amid a love-child scandal, has hired a divorce lawyer, sources tell PEOPLE.
Prominent Los Angeles family law attorney Laura Wasser is now representing California's former first lady, according to sources close to Shriver.
"Maria hasn't decided yet if she wants to end her marriage," says one source. Wasser was hired before the news of the affair went public, sources say.

Gloria Allred?
Have gun will travel.
The fact that Arnold fathered a child outside of the Marriage has no bearing on Alimony or Child Support for Maria.
The Lawyer will be making some big bucks though.
Maria likely brought more cash to the table than Arnold.
That true Conservative GOP candidate (forget his name now) would have been Governor of California all that time, and not this Hollyweird joker, if this Truth had come out when it should have, during the elections.
Tom Mc Clintock, I believe was the name.
They don't call a man's divorce “the screwing you get for the screwing you got” for nothing. Ah-nold’s wick dipping exercise is gonna cost him big time.
I can't imagine what it must have already cost him to keep that other woman quiet for the past ten years.
It will seem like small change after Maria’s lawyers take him to the financial cleaners.
I like how Craig Ferguson said it one night.
“Hasta la Vista, half my stuff.”
It’s how a Kennedy makes their money, the old fashioned way:
They scam it.
Yes, also believe it was Tom McClintock - -
who many hoped would get the job.
I am not a big Kennedy fan by any means. However there is truth to what you say. My marriage ended because of this. I literally walked away with nothing though.
Also, she gave up a sucessful career as a journalist for this man and had kids and stayed home.
I dont know how old Maria is, probably close to my age in her 50’s. It is himiliating when your husband does this. You feel worthless as a person and as a woman.
My husband got my youth. It has been five years now and I just started dating again. Having the time of my life now and very happy. :-)

I have to reply to your comment..Maria, from all accounts was a good and faithful wife and is a loving Mother. Granted, she is related to the Kennedy’s but right is right and wrong is wrong..Arnold, from all accounts, was and perhaps, is, an alley cat, having bedded down the household help..Do men get much lower than that? I am getting a little sick of the media trying to absolve Arnold from his behavior by doing, for example what O’Reilly did last night in comparing Arnold to Thomas Jefferson, for Heaven’s sake!!! Carl Rove, for once, was the voice of reason in that conversation. O’Reilly sounded like he wanted the internet regulated because it was being so cruel to Arnold. Rove reminded him that the American people can be trusted to know right from wrong..I can see all kinds of reasons why we may be finished as a nation and most of it goes back to the major news media, not the citizen news media. Maria Shriver may decide to stay with Arnold in the end..Twenty Five years of marriage makes a lot of memories..It is her decision as to whether they have enough of value between them to overcome his scummy ways.
Good luck, Arnie. This one is going to be an “owie”!
It’s hard to feel sorry for a Kennedy family member. All of Maria’s uncles were womanizers, with the possible exception of Joe, who was killed in WW2. Her grandfather was too, and was also about as corrupt as one can get. Even her grandmother Rose’s father, Honey Fitz, was said to have been.
Having said that Maria, herself, the flaming liberal that she is, seems to have been a good wife and mother, and a much better person than her husband.
I guess we won’t be seeing the happy couple sipping wine and inviting people to California anymore.
Arnold may go back to producing or directing movies, but his acting days as an action hero are done. This divorce may give him “street cred” in some areas, but he's just managed to destroy himself and what reputation he may have had. I still don't think he has a clue he's really screwed the pooch this time. He will find out as this whole fiasco unfolds.
