In California, even if a parole board grants a release it still has to be approved by the governor. I don't know what the deal is in Texas.

My advice to you .... if they grant him a release get as much public light and scrutiny on this as you can. Take your story to the local TV stations, Facebook, radio stations, whatever. Politicians HATE to have any sunshine bearing down on their despicable actions and would probably cringe at the thought of being outed as sympathetic to a brutal rapist.

And please don't be ashamed. Go into detail of what he did and everyone will be on your side.

Last I heard, the board has to approve it, and the gov signs it.

But we don't let the governor grant parole or pardon without approval from the board.
