Jim Rogers: Taking people's bank accounts is going to happen
examiner.com ^ | 3/28/2013 | : Kenneth Schortgen Jr.

Posted on 03/28/2013 2:00:26 PM PDT by Beave Meister

On March 28, billionaire investor Jim Rogers appeared as a guest on the CNBC program, Squawk on the Street. During the four minute interview, Rogers was pointedly asked if what occurred in Cyprus was a one time deal, or if this is now a template for the future of Western economies and banks. Without hesitation, Rogers said that this is going to happen, and taking people's money from their bank accounts is a certainty as both the IMF and ECB have already condoned it in their precedent.

CNBC Host Carl Quintinella: What's your appetite on Europe at these levels?

Jim Rogers: No, I'm certainly not buy there. It's pretty scary what's going on in Europe when they start taking money out of people's bank accounts. I for one am making sure I don't have too much money in any single bank account anywhere in the world now because now there is a precedent Carl. The IMF has said sure, loot the banks accounts. The EU has said loot the bank accounts. So you can be sure in other countries when the problems come are going to say, well, it's condoned by the EU, it's condoned by the IMF. let's do it too.

NOTHING would surprise me these days.. and with this administration! Inflation or a cashless society will kill the value of mattress savings. Better to invest in capital goods while money has any value.

Well I tried to invest in Ammunition, but the government stopped me from doing that by buying it all before I could get enough.

On day ammunition will be worth more than the Confederate dollars we are passing off as legal tender. It can be used in barter because it has an intrinsic value. Money today is nothing but paper it’s only actual value is if you use it to wipe yourself .

Seems to me that as long as the US Treasury can print new money there’s no need to steal our bank accounts.

When Obama starts directly tapping bank accounts the excrement will hit the fan.

Penny Prtizgers Bank did very well using our money.

She is Ojangos largest Chicago supporter.

They did very well , so no doubt it will be repeated again and again.

There’s a Great Storm coming you can feel it.

Its your choice you can prep or you can stand around on a bridge waiting for FEMA to bring you a bottle of water, a MRE, a warm blanket and a kiss for your boo-boo and maybe you can even get your picture as you stand there on the national news.

Any one with half a brain can look around and see for themselves what is happening right before their eyes.

So listen to what the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. NIV Proverbs 22:3

One of the things Selco covers in this article is the fact that many will not accept that a breakdown is occurring even as they watch it happening before their eyes. Why don’t they realize it? It’s caused by a condition called ‘Normalcy Bias’ a mental state people enter when facing a disaster.

It causes people to underestimate both the possibility of a disaster occurring and its possible effects. This often results in situations where people fail to adequately prepare for a disaster, and on a larger scale, the failure of governments to include the populace in its disaster preparations. The assumption that is made in the case of the normalcy bias is that since a disaster never has occurred then it never will occur. It also results in the inability of people to cope with a disaster once it occurs. People with a normalcy bias have difficulties reacting to something they have not experienced before. People also tend to interpret warnings in the most optimistic way possible, seizing on any ambiguities to infer a less serious situation.

A good article on ‘Normalcy Bias’ is on our own ChocChipCookies Blog The Survival Mom:

http://thesurvivalmom.com/2010/12/29/normalcy-bias/

You either prepare and stand on your own beholden to no one or you become dependent on others to provide your basic needs and become their ‘serf’. Me I don’t want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly don’t want to have to kiss some ‘gubberment’ third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I don’t want some ‘jack booted’ thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I don’t want to be shut up in with a bunch of ‘zombies’ and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.

For those who are just starting or are old hands at prepping you may find my Preparedness Manual helpful. You can download it at:

http://tomeaker.com/kart/Preparedness1j.pdf NOTE! THIS IS A FREE DOWNLOAD. I DO NOT MAKE ONE CENT OFF MY PREPAREDNESS MANUAL!

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, cash (I myself have been putting up change for the past few years both for the metal content and the fact that using change places to make what purchases you can will move you down the the list of possible marks during shtf), tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.

As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Again I like to recomend FReeper’s ChocoChipCookie Blog The Survival Mom (Please Blog Police let this one slide!) Where you can get lots of useful information like:

And More

Also there is Ferfal’s Blog a survivor of Argentina’s first collapse:

And there is Selco’s Blog a Bosnian War survivor at:

Let’s see, your 401k is up for grabs in the near future as required under Social Justice rules of “fairness”. Next your bank deposits will be up for grabs under Social Justice rules to bail out the government and the robber banks. Finally, your life will be up for grabs under Social Justice rules for you to prove your economic value and viability to the death panels.

No bank deposits anymore. No more 401K. Life since 2008 has been pretty hard-scrabble. I feel badly for those it will effect that aren't prepared for it.

Isn’t that where the term “shot glass” came from? There’s several definitions of it but the one closets would be the price of a drink was one round of whatever bullets they had back then.

Cyprus is only a distraction from Italy. Bond investors already had their money confiscated in Greece. Has that been done in Spain or Italy, yet? Where’s the news about that?

I don't know if it will or not. In Cyprus they're mostly just rolling over and taking it (so far).

Obamacare is essentially going to tap bank accounts to collect penalties...at least via your tax refund.

Expect new penalties for other things like "assault" weapon possession now that the monetary seizure mechanism is in place.

Gonna get real interesting if/when a barter/black market economy becomes a thorough reality.

That’s what 1.6 B rounds of DHS ammo is for- to blow back the excrement from the fan.

There once was a man who started withdrawing as much of his money as he could out of his accounts in small increments or pouring it into hard assets, a deposit on another land purchase, a new generator, a Farm Boss Biodiesel processor, and additional livestock beginning the day the Cyprus robbery was first announced.

If the U.S. government makes an announcement you're too late.

Most items are perishable and don’t last long. Those with the means to produce will prevail.

I've been doing it for a while.

Swap a young guy the use of my tiller for his garden in exchange for tilling mine? You bet. I'm not as young as I used to be.

Seems to me that as long as the US Treasury can print new money there’s no need to steal our bank accounts.

When they print valueless money they are stealing your bank account and everyone else’s that own dollar denominated investments.

When they print money they devalue your money. In fact they are stealing part of the value of everyone’s money.

Canned items can last decades if in a cool and dry place. Far longer than we will probably need them to. Pastas can last decades. Rice can too.
