In honor of today being Mother's Day, today's feature stars Republican actor and great Disney and TV dad Fred MacMurray as a pediatrician who marries glamorous actress Marlene Dietrich so she can adopt a foundling baby. Standard Hollywood studio fluff of the 1940s but pleasant and appropriate for the holiday.

True. Haha. Dietrich certainly was a cinematic legend although I can’t help but think of Madeline Kahn’s brilliant parody of her in “Blazing Saddles” whenever I see her.

Dietrich in mink stole strewn with rose petals.

Marlene Dietrich, 1948. She wears a wonderful mink cape
strewn with rose petals made especially for her in
Paris; said to have cost $40,000.

Why no play “ I remember Mama,” instead of this dog.

Fred MacMurray never starred in anything but dogs.

The Apartment is one of my favorite films. Paul Douglas was signed to play the Sheldrake role but was replaced by MacMurray after his untimely death.

I find I download and watch a lot of youtube videos these days..here is what I pulled down just yesterday and watched.
