On the heels of a shocking video showing the Planned Parenthood abortion business selling the body parts of aborted babies, a new expose from a group that monitors corporations that finance the abortion giant reveals the United Way is a major donor.
The consumer advocacy organization 2nd Vote has informed LifeNews.com of the release of the Pro-Life Guide to United Way, a new guide that lists the over 1,200 United Way affiliates across the United States and specifies the organizations that contribute to the worlds largest abortion company.
United Way has done many good things through fundraising efforts and partnerships that help communities across the country, said 2nd Vote spokesman Robert Kuykendall. However, the fact that United Way affiliates give almost $2 million annually to Planned Parenthood is concerning for Pro-Lifers that would want to support these good causes but also want to make sure that their dollars do not help fund abortion services.

Although the United Ways website contains language claiming a neutral stance by the organization on the abortion issue, Kuykendall tells LifeNews that some United Way affiliates donate to the Planned Parenthood abortion corporation anyway.
According to United Way, only 5% of its affiliates contribute in any way to Planned Parenthood, Kuykendall said.
How can pro-life advocates find out if their local United Way agency donates to the abortion giant? The group tells LifeNews that its handy guide makes it easy to figure out which ones partner with Planned Parenthood. The Pro-Life Guide to United Way was released on 2nd Votes website and contains a state-by-state list of every United Way in the United States. Each entry shows the amount of money donated to Planned Parenthood by that affiliate with a link to tax forms documenting the expenditure.
2nd Votes goal is to provide Pro-Life donors a resource that will help them avoid donating money that would eventually help fund the worlds largest abortion provider, he said.
Every dollar that Planned Parenthood receives helps promote the abortion agenda. 2nd Vote is dedicated to showing conservatives where their dollars actually go and giving them the resources to align their spending and charitable contributions with their values, said Kuykendall.
The release of the Pro-Life Guide to United Way follows similar resource guides compiled from 2nd Votes research that investigated corporate contributions to Planned Parenthood. American Express, AT&T, Avon, Bank of America, Bath and Body Works and Ben & Jerrys are some of the companies the organization found to be supporting Planned Parenthood.
The guide also includes companies like Johnson and Johnson, Levi Strauss, Liberty Mutual and Macys. Coca-Cola, Converse, Dockers, ExxonMobil, Ford, Groupon and many more corporations appear on the list as well.
In general I consider “regifting” of donated monies to constitute fraud.
I do too, not to mention any names COUGH COUGH COUGH Susan B Komen COUGH COUGH COUGH.
Haven’t contributed to United Way since some affiliates decided to cut off Boy Scouts. We give to our church, the Boy Scouts, the local thrift stores and food banks whose management we trust. That’s it. And I won’t even consider handing out cash to panhandlers.
UW strong arms and essentially extorts money from local businesses. And it uses the local government as one of its enforcers.
And then the pressured businesses politely force employees to contribute. Gotta get that 100% employee participation. What cause is so noble that it consistently gets 100% of people to contribute?
You like a charity or cause? Don’t give the money to UW to distribute, give it directly to them yourself.

Agree with you on that. We quit giving to any national organizations, especially those like UW and Red Cross. So many people contributed a lot of money to Red Cross when we had all the flooding across Texas. Bet that most of it went right back into the Red Cross administrative coffers like it has in the past and not to the people it was donated to help. With some research we have always been able to find small local groups who were providing documented assistance to those in need.
I never give to any of the “bigs”. They have all become too political.
Actually, this furthers my belief that you should never give to any major group - only give to individuals.
We should never have to determine if they are legitimate or not, so just don’t give to these major players. Instead, find out who they are suppose to give to and if you must, give to those directly.
Seems that all of these major groups become political and fail to help those that they originally intended to serve.
My company used to really harass us about United Way. I used to always give the form back and say, “I donate directly to my preferred charities.” They’ve backed off on it a lot the past few years, and I don’t think they even sent out a form this year.
United Way arranges with local businesses to get heavy handed in pushing their staff and employees to give to UW, and pressuring many to participate in the fundraising campaign.
Who didn’t know they were hand in hand with the abortion provider Planned Parenthood.
Susan Komen Foundation = same thing— they adopted the color pink, turned it into a ribbon they managed to get stamped on every other product you want to buy at the grocery store and department stores. A percentage of the price is sent to Komen for “cancer research”, and a portion of the Komen take is sent to you guessed it, Planned Parenthood.
Now you see football teams and rodeo contestants in pink shirts for Komen. Sheesh. Abortion is cash and carry.
Absolutely...and if that is too much trouble, give at your church where at least the entire thing is more manageable as to whose hands the money ultimately ends up in and what the costs are to get it there. What this story has done for me is prompt the preparation of a concise speech that I'll have at the ready the next time that anyone wants me to donate to the UW.
Back in the 1970’s, I work for the telephone co in Boston, who demanded that we give to the United Way through payroll deductions. At the time, I was not a Christian, and my politics were very liberal, but I hated the idea that money went to PP, because they killed babies (I was a hippie-flower-child-allnatural-airhead, but was also pro-life).
I asked if I could designate my meager donation to a preferred charity, but the boss said no. I thereupon refused to give at all, and was blackballed, harassed, and eventually fired for keeping our office at less than 100% compliance.
That company was eventually destroyed by deregulation, competition, and outsourcing, but I’m still here. (LOL)
When I look back at that event, knowing what I know now, I can’t help but feel a wee bit of satisfaction.
