The whale about a year old came ashore near the county line, bringing with it crowds of people, curious to see the majestic creature up close.
But with the curiosity also came sadness for some why did the whale die? How did it end up washed up on the beach?
I was wondering if it died naturally or if it died from a boat because it looked like he had a lot of cuts on it and that could have been from an engine or something, said Davenport Milgalter.
Authorities say gray whales are migrating by our coast from Mexico to Alaska right now with hundreds of whales just off shore. They say mom and baby whales will soon start their migration north so boaters need to be careful and give them space. The same goes for the whale now in its final resting place on the beach.
Experts say since theyre not sure how the whale died, its best to keep your distance. Theyre planning a necropsy for Monday to hopefully get some answers.
Authorities have no plans to move the whale, instead theyre going to let nature dispose of the body.

There’s an old video of blowing up a whale who was dead on a beach in Calif. Big whale. They blew him up and big chunks rained down on people and the parking lot.
Will a high tide come in and pull it back out to sea?
I can’t imagine just leaving a decaying carcass there, attracting flies and rodents and creating an awful odor.
The seagulls and the crows will have it picked clean in no time.
Reminds me of an old short story I read in Playboy (yes, I read the articles) years ago titled SOUVENIR in which after a storm, a 50 foot body of a man washes ashore. Where he came from no one knew.
Trump-Orca collusion — we need a special counsel.

Lol That’s it.
Yes, the problem is that we just don't know whether Trump harpooned the whale himself or whether it was just his dehumanizing rhetoric that made this crime possible.
Regards,
He came from Brobdingnag, obviously. Floated a long way.
A fine light aroma to follow.
Now *that's* a blowhole!
You had tons of useful raw material just waiting to be used.
You had fuel from the blubber, bones for tools, intestines for containers and tendons for cord.
Now they just let it rot.
Instead of blaming humans, global warming, international corporate dumping, etc. why not rule this grey whale’s death on reaching the end of his natural God designed lifespan? The whale likely wanted to die peacefully and quietly already. RIP whale buddy.
Lol Good one.
Thanks. That car sure got smacked. Lol
