There is a precedent. Paul wanted to go preach the gospel to Asia?, but God told him no. Acts 16.

Misuse of the text. Paul wanted to go to Asia to preach but God directed him elsewhere. God did not tell Paul not to preach, just that he was to preach somewhere else.

And meanwhile, there is a Catholic presence in India that traces its roots back to the apostle St. Thomas ... so it’s not like God was telling Paul that NOBODY should be spreading the Gospel in Asia.
