Shantika Briley was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly beating a man with a pipe when he reportedly sexually assaulted her 9-year-old daughter.
The 35-year-old Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, mom said she caught the presently unnamed 39-year-old man “licking her daughter’s lips and trying to kiss her.” Briley allegedly responded with a pipe, beating the man in the head and face until he fled out the front door with Briley still in pursuit.

Briley has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment but was released after posting a $25,000 bond. As of the time of this writing, she has yet to retain legal counsel. No criminal charges have been filed against the unnamed man, but Briley claims he is being investigated.

Of course. They’re following the UK style of justice; arrest the victim of a crime instead of the perpetrator of it.

The prosecution would not want me on the jury, based on what I read here...
Assuming the facts are as she says, she should be released.
That, however, assumes that the facts ARE as she says, and that she didn’t attack the guy for some other reason, and then claim that the reason was because he was licking her daughter, which is always a possibility.
Or, drop charges, or recall DA
First thing I wondered. Mother and daughter should attend a rally. Besides, 9 year-olds are just the right age to learn about civics. :)

Put me on the jury and it gets dismissed (with prejudice, if possible- so she can sue those who arrested her for defending her daughter)
Unnamed 39-year-old man found in creek didn’t have life jacket on.
The police were called and the two were at the guy's house where he was bleeding.
At first the woman said she only used her fists. Then she came up with the assertion that he had tried to kiss her daughter.
The police listened two the two of them and decided to arrest her.
Now I'm wondering if maybe she beat him with her crack pipe because he didn't pay her.
I don't think we are getting much accurate information out of the press because it looks like they only talked to the woman and sort of skipped talking to the woman's neighbors, the dude's neighbors, and if they talked to the cops at all they neglecting to ask them much.
