The Red Sox manager said players are free to 'express themselves' during MLB games.
----
The Boston Red Sox unveiled a massive Black Lives Matter billboard Wednesday. The 250-foot billboard is adjacent to Fenway Park and faces the Massachusetts Turnpike. The huge sign features the words "Black Lives Matter" in the font of the Red Sox on a black background with the team's logo at the end.
The billboard includes the URL to the Red Sox Foundation website for more information. On the site, Red Sox President and CEO Sam Kennedy released a statement titled, "Social Justice, Equity and Inclusion," regarding the recent police brutality cases that sparked protests across the country.
"I have been struggling to find the right words to express the profound anguish, outrage and confusion we are all feeling in the wake of the heartbreaking incidents that have occurred across the country over the past few months," Kennedy wrote. "The senseless killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor are stark reminders that racism and police brutality continue to be pervasive in America."
"Please know we stand with you,'' Kennedy said of Red Sox personnel who have engaged in social justice protests. "Silence in the face of injustice is unacceptable. Thank you for your support of each other during these challenging times. Our work continues."

You still going to watch MLB folks? Not me. Adios.https://t.co/aDnPb10DoQ— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) July 23, 2020
Yeah, that’ll get the fans fired up!.............................
This is a nightmare that won’t end. What kind of hold does Burn Loot Murder have on every organization?
BLM is the opposite of MLB.
MLB will not survive, sadly.
It’s okay, they used that cool looking old time Script Font.
“Please know we stand with you,’’
That kind of kowtowing won’t save them...
Who will be watching?
From what I understand about the average Red Sox Fan, this is not going to be too popular.
OK, Red Sox, you support BLM. They want the cops defunded then when are you going to eliminate the Boston police from security duty at ballgames?
I was at a San Francisco Giants baseball game at Candlestick Park with my son about 22 years ago. Unbeknownst to me, I bought tickets for “AIDS Quilt Day” and they unfurled that abomination before the game right in front of us on the third base line.
“Dad, what is that? Why are they showing us that?”
“Uh, they are just showing off some quilting skills by some people, son.”
I learned that day that pro sports will do anything for a buck and you need to really ask what’s going on the day you are visiting. At least back then they didn’t bring the Folsom Street homos out to prance around naked.
It’s been a long, steady slide for pro sports, but it sure has accelerated this year. I’m done with all of it.
If I was a liberal in 2020, I’d be laughing and shitting on everyone too. :D
time for the equal opinion argument....
time for a Trip 2020 billboard
Watch what happens to high school sports when they reopen.
The poisonous lie of “BLM”, namely that blacks live in mortal peril of white racism is not only a lie, it is the opposite of the truth. Interracial violent crime in the USA is overwhelmingly committed by blacks. Blacks murder whites at a per-capita rate 12 times the reverse. Blacks commit all violent crime at a rate 30 times the reverse.
Yet in the increasingly Soviet USA, lies go up on billboards. Dissent to the lie puts your livlihood at immediate risk.
Lives Matter!
If you need a color
in front of those words
YOU are a racist
It could have worse. I actually had tickets a few years ago for Gay Pride Day @ Fenway Park. I had bought the tickets at the beginning of the season BEFORE they decided it was homo day at Fenway. It made for an interesting game. Needless to say, I did my best NOT to drink any beer. Hence avoiding having to visit the MENS room during the game.
