The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing the greatest amount of free meals and food stamps ever—to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Dept. of the Interior, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals."

Their stated reason for the policy is because "the animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves.” This ends today's lesson in irony…

Here's another one;

The City of Dallas, Texas , passed an ordinance stating that

if a driver is pulled over by law enforcement and is not able to provide

proof of insurance , the car is towed .

To retrieve the car after being impounded,

they must show proof of insurance to have the car released.

This has made it easy for the City of Dallas to remove uninsured cars.

Shortly after the "No Insurance" ordinance was passed,

the Dallas impound lots began to fill up and were full after only nine days 80% of the impounded cars were driven by illegals .

Now, not only must they provide proof of insurance to have their car released,

they have to pay for the cost of the tow ,

a $350 fine ,

and $20 for every day their car is kept in the lot.

Guess what?

Accident rates have gone down 47%

and Dallas' solution gets uninsured drivers off the road WITHOUT

making them show proof of nationality.

I wonder how the

Democrats

will get around

this one .

* * * * Just brings tears to your eyes doesn't it? **

*** GO Dallas ***

“He who does not work, shall not eat” is a concept that needs to make a major comeback.

No. Retirees have earned their meal. I’m referring more to the young kids who don’t want to work because they are collecting more from Unemployment/State payments. Just a couple weeks ago I worked 28.5 hours of overtime because my company can’t hire anyone.

THE MEALS ARE NOT FREE. They’re paid for by the taxpayers...WE THE PEOPLE.

They think animals will lose the ability to fend for themselves.

Horsefeathers...poppycock.

Only humans react that way. Animal activists said years ago that bird feeders would have the same effect, if you kept bird feeders in your yard, the birds would forget how to forage for their food the way they have done for millions of years.

So some studies were done. It turns out no matter where you are, no matter what time of year, birds still get around 80% of their food in the wild, even if you have a half dozen bird feeders in your yard, like my mother did.

If you have a chicken coop, the chicken snakes don’t get 100% of their food there, and if you shut it down, they don’t starve. Coyotes dont make a living on your chickens alone, and once they’re all gone the coyotes don’t starve because your chicken yard offered free food for a while. I have a neighbor who is down to about 2 or 3 chickens, the coyotes have not left the area because his chickens are mostly gone and he’s watching them with a shotgun...2 chickens is barely one meal for a half dozen coyotes...

Remove your deer feeders after deer season, do the deer starve and move out of the state? Nope...they go back to what they know, forage in the woods and come through my yard and grab every peach and pear they can reach standing on their hind legs...then wipeout the neighbor’s pea patch. Stop the gardening, they go back to foraging in the woods. I’ve seen deer foraging in the woods when a feeder was less than 100 yards away and well used. I watch them in a friend’s neighborhood, and people over there feed them daily. They still stay in the woods 90% of the time, they just don’t run from people there like they do here, they’ll amble through your yard in mid day. And I can get close enough for some decent pictures now and then.

I always thought so, with bird feeders 30 yards away, I still saw birds hopping around in the trees and on the ground grabbing up their traditional tidbits, insects and such, literally every day...while a bird feeder was right there nearby, and full, many times in sight of where they were foraging. I didn’t think it would be 80%, but I was sure they were feeding in their natural way. Giving them a helping hand is not going to wipe out 75 million years of instincts.

I see it right now too. I only have one feeder, but I still watch birds feeding in trees and on the ground every day when the feeder is full. As in literally right now while I sit outside and type, I’m watching birds feed in the trees, and I filled the feeder yesterday just before dark. 2 or 3 cardinals and a couple of chickadees or titmouse at the feeder, a half dozen all over the yard and in the trees.

With a hummingbird feeder available, the hummers still visit every deep flower in sight every day. Even those that do visit feeders do not visit them exclusively to get food for their young, as far as I can tell. They get it from the woods and trees mostly. And I’ve watched them teach their young to forage for food. I did see and get pictures of a Red Bellied Woodpecker teaching its young one to find food at my suet feeder, but it’s gone soon as warm weather starts, and the Red Bellies are here year round, I watched one yesterday. Suet feeder was gone in early March.

Chickadees and Tufted Titmouse may take seeds back to the nest, I’m not sure. Usually I see them go sit on a limb and crack the sunflower seed open and eat it. Both grab sunflower seeds only. Then I see them go forage through the trees for insects and spiders.

That’s what birds are doing when you don’t see them at your bird feeder for an hour, foraging in the woods.

Humans - different story. Give a 25 year old dumbass welfare and food stamps and he’ll never try to get on his feet and fend for himself. I did, but I was an exception I guess. I filed for food stamps when I was around 28 or 30 or so because jobs were nonexistent, told them they could keep them soon as I could make a living again. That was just before Reagan’s economy managed to recover from Carter. Did it twice, about 6 months each time, 20 years apart. Soon as I could find another job and make a living, I grabbed it and they could keep their food stamps. Never even thought about welfare...

I’m sure I’m not the only exception, I’ve known a couple, but they are few and far between.

Now, I’m retired, I paid for it and social security ain’t much, so I take advantage of it. Without food stamps, I’d be perpetually broke, and groceries are already starting to go up. As it is, I can only afford one box of ammo a month, when I can find it...anything happens to the car, like a brake job, I’m broke for 2 months...just did that not long ago...uggg...didn’t even go grab a burger for 2 months plus.

Animals? Not a chance they’re not going to forget 75 million years of instincts...
