more on Indonesia. This article blames pre-existings, plus malnutrition and delayed treatment to the point of actively dying, etc as the reason for child deaths. Maybe Brazil’s baby deaths are from similar reasons? Also since most of the children were below 6, maybe younger parents or poor castes relying on cultural remedies?:
