I believe in the rule of law. (I never knew that the importance of Law and adherence to it were among ‘rad-lib’ ideals.)
Which part of ‘jurisdiction’ do you not get? It may have been a purely political and spiteful act on the part of Biden and the Democrats; but the Governor did the right thing by not violating the law.
If you don’t like laws, work to change them. But that’s a lot harder than spouting defiance on the Internet - millions of people do the latter every hour, usually to very little lasting effect.
You don’t believe in civil disobedience?
Are you suggesting that the riots that happened in major cities all over the nation over the past year were mere ‘civil disobedience’?
I don’t believe in breaking the law over something like fireworks.
And I think we have to be very careful about ‘civil disobedience’. Right now any such on the part of conservative-minded people - however peaceful - will be used to demonize ALL conservatives - thanks to a number of idiots who created what was easily construed as a ‘riot’ on January 6 - (and many of the perpetrators of that were probably anti-conservative agitators.)
I don’t see how spitting into the wind helps any of us. (I can only imagine how a ‘peaceful civil disobedience’ would be used, if the Governor of South Dakota had led it.)
Get your head out of your ‘grievance butt’ and try to think a little strategically.
Nice way to avoid the answer and liken a firework show on 4th if July to arson and rioting.
You’re like a capo.
I don’t know what a ‘capo’ is, except for the one on my guitar.
But you’re the one who began this conversation by suggesting that a governor of a US State should ignore and defy the Law.
I think we have enough of that going on already; and again, I applaud the Governor for her good judgment.
“But you’re the one who began this conversation by suggesting that a governor of a US State should ignore and defy the Law.”
Which law?
You can’t even say which I’ll bet.
The fact that National Parks are under federal jurisdiction is pretty plain - and it’s been that way since a very long time before the current political environment.
Argue with the Department of Interior, and the National Park Service.
I’m tired of you now.
You’re tired because you cannot defend your position other than by saying you pledge allegiance to Biden and believe he is a legitimate president.
“Which is why Noem should have ignored it.“
Not hard to understand that National Parks belong to all Americans, not one state.
Feds staff them and make the rules.
It’s not “walking into the oven “ to understand that.
To put down the Governor of SD for what the Feds do is ridiculous .
Is Biden a legitimate president?
He is President and that isn’t going to change unless the DEMONCRATS decide he has outlived his usefulness, he dies in Office or he is defeated in 2024. That is the reality we are living in.
Nobody on this Site thinks he is a Legitimate POTUS, but that has nothing to do with the FACT that he isn’t going anywhere.
As a retired Navy Chief told me years ago, wish in one hand, spit in the other snd see which hand fills up first.
“Nobody on this Site thinks he is a Legitimate POTUS, but that has nothing to do with the FACT that he isn’t going anywhere.”
If he is not legitimate there is no reason for Noem to follow his directives.
You missed the point. Saying he is “illegitimate “ and proving it while moving forward so he is removed from Office are two different things.
As far as I know you can’t Impeach an “illegitimate” President so that limits how you can get rid of Joseph Stolen, AKA Jomentia Xiden.
Civil disobedience.
Noem putting on the fireworks show would have been perfect.
And the problem is greater than Biden. Congress is not legitimate either.
We have crossed the rubicon.
People like to pretend things are normal and there is stil rule of law.
States and the people have to step up as per the tenth amendment.
“As far as I know you can’t Impeach an “illegitimate” President so that limits how you can get rid of Joseph Stolen, AKA Jomentia Xiden”
Just ignore him.
Don’t have to get rid of him.
I do my best. #;^)
I pledge allegiance to Law.
You seem to be itching to break it.
Yes or no is Biden a legitimate president?
I believe that the last general election was kind of ‘hinky’.
But many people believe that the 2000 election of Bush 43 was ‘illegitimate’.
Do you believe that should render all of his executive decisions illegitimate?
It’s a yes or no question.
