Places with highest daily reported cases per capita
Seven-day average of daily new reported cases per 100,000 residents
No kidding.
Numbers are falling apart. We can’t get decent data with so many states so frequently not reporting. Yesterday was 12 states.
Do you have your panty hose over your mask, as you type>
On Jan. 6, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) updated its guidance on COVID-19 data reporting for hospitals. The updated guidance, to take effect Feb. 2, says they no longer need to report the previous day’s COVID-19 deaths to the federal government.
I thought there was some rebuttal to that.
It really does look like the Administration will manufacture “victory over the virus!!!” for the election by simply not reporting bad numbers.
I suspect he has done that for the past year
“It really does look like the Administration will manufacture “victory over the virus!!!” for the election by simply not reporting bad numbers.”
When the (literally) billion at home tests that the Biden Administration purchased start hitting the street, that will change people’s testing behavior - and thereby the test reporting.
The tests themselves may also be less sensitive, or give a higher percentage of false negatives (other at home antigen tests do give more false negatives than the in-person PCR tests).
It is "housed" and admin is in Utrecht, in the Netherlands.
This is interesting, as the site is in English. Its "about" page states, "Since March 2020, our website is dedicated to charting and analyzing the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak worldwide."
The "data" on China -- https://newsnodes.com/country/CN -- is quite in line with all the other "official" sites like JHU, IMHE, worldometers and statista. A visit to that page on China is recommended since it is represented as part of their data.
"Reported deaths" in China over two+ years is an astounding "4,849."
Just as the Johns Hopkins University with its "gold standard" reporting. But NewsNodes states "our coronavirus-data as entered by Newsnodes can be compared to data by World Health Organization (WHO) and John Hopkins University (JHU)."
Interesting that a European web page hosed in the Netherlands has mirrored all the others, in English.
NewsNodes reports "officially" 5,716,437 Covid deaths worldwide over two years time. Their number as a function of thew world's population --
( 5,716,437 NewsNodes Covid deaths / 7,923,543,454 global population ) x 100 = a worldwide, pandemic-long mortality rate of 0.072%.
Less than one-tenth of one percent over two years.
So, given the above sourced information, "What is your opinion concerning this website on daily Covid statistics?"
Only deaths matter. Everything else has agenda.
I know nothing of it. Rather too much editorial text in the glance I just saw there. The data layout looks what I would call excessively pictorial. Why not just lay the numbers out for the world (far too little emphasis on the world on the site) in a scrolled spreadsheet style? Pictures of places with size of bubble describing something doesn’t seem that useful to me.
Far too much emphasis on case counts, dependent on tests given, false positives, incidental tests at hospitals for car accidents . . . just too much crap in case counts. Worldometers presents cases and deaths, and the latter is where there is the least doubt. Dead is dead.
I know nothing about the site (Worldtraveler has gathered some info above your post). The site was posted on my feed (along with BNO) and I noticed their death count (daily and total) has been higher than other sites for the U.S.
I was surprised by the daily and total death counts for the U.S. yesterday (according to Newsnodes). I hadn’t seen these totals reported by many media outlets. My first thought was is this site legit?
Well, it's Dutch.
It's a most interesting problem for the sites, the data reporters and statisticians, given that the Biden administration now "sports" more official Covid deaths than the previous administration, but still is trying to tamp down the media hysteria.
If you feel the sites are "legit," then the following will be correct for you:
Worldometer, as of 25 January 2022 ---
( 5,624,631 "official" Covid deaths globally / 7,922,649,789 "official" global population ) x 100 = 0.071 % global mortality rate.
China, ranked 120th, has a "worldometers" and Dutch "data" site 4,636 Covid deaths over twenty-five months of this pandemic.
( 4,636 "official worldometers" Covid deaths in China / 1,439,323,776 Chinese ) x 100 = 0.00032% mortality rate.
The official data says the US mortality rate compared to the Communist Chinese is "worldometers" and "Dutch site" data ---
( 924,731 official US Covid deaths / 331,002,651 Americans ) x 100 = 0.279% mortality rate over two+ years.
0.00032% mortality rate for China and 0.279% mortality rate over two+ years.
Th US is among the world leaders in Covid DEATH. Or -- maybe there's something wrong with the data collection and analyses?
Legit? The question becomes daily more interesting.
biden proved the kung flu is a scam when he opened our southern border and spread over 2 million invaders across our country during a supposed “global pandemic” while the world health organization sits back and silently watches...
On Wednesday, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) officially ended its system for hospitals to report COVID-19 deaths daily to the federal government, amid a worldwide campaign to reduce the reporting of COVID-19 deaths and cases.
End of COVID-19 hospital death reporting is “incomprehensible,” says US health official
No, the US government is not ending daily COVID death reporting
