Did anyone notice how dimly lit the audience was? That was the first late night show I have EVER seen where the audience was just about invisible. **Look at the difference of the lighting just two nights earlier.

They didn’t want him to think it was a trump rally

I checked it with a photo program and the zoom only seemed to pick up straight horizontal lines, presumably the backs of the seats in the dark area. Perhaps they didn’t allow people in the front section for security purposes.
My eyes are a bit blurry though.

I think this is standard for talks shows. During the monologue the lights are up so the host can see the audience.
When the show moves to the desk and the guests the lights are dimmed.

My guess? There was a line of secret service agents across the front of the audience to keep anybody from running toward the stage since it is FAR closer than any formal rally or anything. That seems where the darkness seems to be focused. They just didn’t want the TV audience to see a line of “men in dark suits”

I wonder if the California audience gave him a huge round of applause and clapped like retarded seals?

I’ve not had TV in my home since 1997. Anything I watch is either on a disk or streamed. I don’t know who Kimmel is, though I’ve heard the name.

I digitally over-exposed a little.. appears that there is no audience on the right hand side, unlike the June 6th audience:

Ok, those are the steps, but wouldn’t they want to show the ‘whole’ crowd if there was anyone else there?

They were probably trying to generate light by harnessing the intelligence of Biden and his followers, that’s why it was so dim.
