It would have happened in the past 24 hours. A convoy of PLA vehicles some 80 kilometers long and stuffed with troops was video'd streaming toward Beijing. All domestic flights -- thousands of them -- have been cancelled. If Xi is in fact deposed, he will almost certainly be replaced by hardliners, in which case an invasion of Taiwan would take place sooner rather than later.

Xi is the hardliner. He is being replaced by allies of Hu Jintao, who is not a hardliner. The Shanghai faction wants to get back to opening up instead of mini Mao Xi.
China is not invading Taiwan. It would be suicide. The idiot Xi may have and that may be the straw that broke its back.
