The knee-jerk opposition to GM crops fails to take fundamentals into account. I'll use two examples to illustrate:
- Strip genetic material from a kale plant and put it in a tomato and get tomatoes who tolerate 28 degree temperatures. Probably a good thing.
- Strip generic material from a cockroach and put it in a tomato and get tomatoes which reproduce better. Probably NOT a good thing.
