Our Government Has Been Covering Up Its Crimes For A Very Long Time

The independently produced movie, Sound of Freedom, grossed over $85 Million in just 13 days. The faith-based thriller sheds light on America’s child trafficking crisis and quickly soared to the number two movie after its July 4, 2023, release. Regarding the tawdry subject of child trafficking and other nefarious crimes let’s pull the curtain back and take a glimpse into the government’s reluctance to address these thorny issues.

Sibel Edmonds is a former contract translator for the FBI. She went to work as a Turkish and Farsi translator for the FBI five days after 9/11 with a top-level security clearance. Then, she revealed the scale of blackmail directed at high-level government officials. In April 2002, she was unceremoniously fired.

With people like the powerful senator from Iowa, Chuck Grassley, on her side, the government was forced to investigate why she was terminated. This led to the Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General (“OIG”) conducting a two-year-long investigation. Finally, in July 2004, the OIG completed its report. However, before it was published and provided to the public, the FBI stepped in and declared it “classified,” preventing its release!

SNIP

Edmond’s job was to translate and transcribe recordings of conversations between suspected Turkish intelligence agents and their American contacts. Through that work, she discovered information so shocking that then-Attorney General Ashcroft gagged her not once but twice using the cagey States Secrets Privilege. The Justice Department also took the unusual step of retroactively classifying Edmonds’ briefings, as well as FBI briefings, forcing Members of Congress who had the information posted on their Web sites to remove the documents.

In fact, the States Security Privilege doctrine has never been the subject of any congressional vote or statute, so it’s quite controversial...

What is shocking is that this is not considered shocking.

The deep state/uniparty prefers candidates and bureaucrats with plenty of closet skeletons. Easier to control. Pretty much everybody in DC is compromised. It's why they are so desperate to destroy Trump. His skeletons are well known, and they aren't that particularly skeletonie, so there's no leverage.

"States Security Privilege doctrine has never been the subject of any congressional vote or statute, so it’s quite controversial..."

Another one of those items covered by the "sources and methods" clause of the Constitution. That clause overrides any oversight by the elected representatives of the people. /s

Pedophiles on both sides of the aisle were protected by the FBI.

It’s reassuring that my Senator Grassley is working tirelessly to expose Deep State corruption at the highest levels! /s

Gee why would those with dirty hands want to have someone with clean hands into power over them 🧐

What would dirty hands use to keep clean hands out? Can’t blackmail, guess they must resort to dirty tricks....

What the heck!

Anyone with more than two brain cells knows that the government lies and has been doing so for many, many years.

What's so disappointing is that our so-called independent press is supposed to be a check on this. What a joke!

Thomas Jefferson and the other founds got most everything right -- but this one slipped through the cracks.

“It all goes back to GIVE SOME PEOPLE A LITTLE POWER AND THEY GO HAYWIRE”

**********

People in power are desperate to stay in power. And they want even more of it. Once ensconced inside their lucrative lairs they never want to leave. After all, what else would these power hungry bureaucrats do if they were forced to vacate their jobs? Most of them are just corrupt political hacks who are there for their own self-enrichment.

An expansive and powerful administrative state almost guarantees corruption and cover ups. As the size and power of agencies expands so do the opportunities for corruption. The Founding Fathers understood this potential threat to the republic and tried to avoid this concentration of power by limiting the scope of the federal government. We didn’t listen to them.

This story mentions the OIG. Most people don’t know that OIG’s are INTERNAL; they are part of the agency they are supposed to monitor. As such, they often serve as a firewall to shield their agencies from bad PR.

Some would like to see the FBI broken up. While this may help in some ways, it doesn’t address the fundamental problem in our government: a complete lack of accountability. Until there are consequences for abuses of power and trust nothing will change.

They couldn’t compromise him.

They couldn’t corrupt him.

And they couldn’t control him.

“Thomas Jefferson and the other founds got most everything right — but this one slipped through the cracks.”

Understandably, the notion of a state affiliated media was never considered. Who back then would think that the press would ever align itself with would-be oppressors? It was simply inconceivable.
