The explosions are vapor cloud explosions. The diesel got released and dispersed. Then it ignited. Somewhere in the report they give the TNT equivalent of the explosions.
The VCE took out the external supports of the tower. For most of the length on each side and about seven floors high. We cannot see the damage to the internal supports from the explosions. The external supports were installed in large pieces. We can see where these entire pieces got blown out. That was the fatal weakness of this building design.
Look at the design of the floor trusses used in the Twin Towers.
Then look for the image of the I95 overpass in Philadelphia that collapsed after a tanker crashed and burned underneath recently.
The floor trusses wouldn’t have lasted long given their much lesser strength compared to the beams supporting the overpass.
