In California, you needed them in your house to avoid criminal charges and you needed them in your bedroom to avoid lawsuits (in Texas we gun them down if they walk on our grass...well, not quite, but almost).
And that was DECADES AGO in California. One can only wonder what’s needed now.
I haven’t seen if the home invaders were armed but if so then the, “I was in fear for my life” defense still works here.
