If one was a child of the 60's and 70's, Kool-Aid was everywhere.
Jonestown gave Kool-Aid , a bad name for the poison he put in it, but at least kids didn't die "suddenly" after drinking untainted Kool-Aid.

And for the record, I know they didn鈥檛 use Kool-Aid in Guyana.

Kool-Aid was essential in the bush for masking the taste of the water purification tablets. My plastic canteens had a permanent smell and taste. Imagine iodine in your orange juice.

Ken Kesey and Jim Jones found new uses for Kool-Aid. Jones’s Kool-Aid lives on as a derogatory term for those that buy into the mainstream Narrative such as “he drank the Kool-Aid”.

I like the sugar-free lemonade, but I rarely remember to buy it. The cost of bottled lemonade is nuts, but I am nearly addicted to the Calypso brand in glass bottles.

During the 1970s the 637 class submarines had a problem with the officer鈥檚 urinal. The pipe to the sanitary tank had a 2deg angle but normally transited at a 3deg down angle which resulted in a 1 deg up angle for the urine sea water mix. Until they put in a freshwater flush, the supply officer had to pour a packet of Goofy Grape koolaid down the urinal once a week.

The sad thing is, it wasn’t Kool Aid that was used at Jonestown, it was some cheap knock off brand. But of course now we all have the phrase “drank the Kool Aid”.

I drank my share of that when I was kid. Then I grew up some and graduated to sweet tea.
My mother used to pour the lime Kool-Aid into ice cube trays and put a toothpick in each one to make popsicles. Some quick refreshment.

Played high school football in a Mississippi River city in mid 50’s. Two practices a day starting in August. Hotter and humid as hell. Would polish off at lest a quart of kool aid in between practices.

This is where the “he drank the kool-aid” reference came from.
