Yes, they sting. And once, as I was heading out of town, I cracked the throttle open a bit on the old Harley, and was running probably 75, and just as I was coming up on the last street light, I got hit by what i think was a rhinoceros beetle. It almost peeled me off the bike, and left a knot and a blue spot for several days. Right between the eyes...

I hit a magpie going about 50, almost knocked me out. It killed the bird, i saw it falling in my rearview mirror. Every biker has bug and bird stories, and a few unfortunately have deer stories, the ones that survive anyway.....
