For clarity: I promise you that Alabama's low IQ ranking isn't because of Huntsville (the city with the highest engineer-to-worker ratio in the nation).

It's because of the areas that have taught their kids for generations not to "act white" and do "white" things like fathers raise kids. It's also because of the tons of illegals and their descendants with no initiative to teach their kids math skills like many of our fathers taught us.

When my daughter was in grade school, she and a black kid named Michael were always at the top of their class and thus became good friends.

When they got to junior high school, Michael's grades went to hell in a handbasket, so my daughter asked him about it. He said he wouldn't be accepted in the black community if he made good grades because good grades made him "too white" for acceptance.

I don't know what happened to Michael.

Huntsville is an odd town. Huge number of engineers yet it has about twice the national average in crime statistics. I’m guessing most of the engineers commute in from areas outside of Huntsville and there are bad sections of town. Public schools aren’t that great also.
