Democrat Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was swarmed by a group of anti-Israel protesters last week as she celebrated her daughter's college graduation at a local restaurant.
The exchange occurred at Bobcat Bonnie's, a brunch-style restaurant in Ypsilanti, Michigan, not far from the University of Michigan, when a group screaming about "genocide" in Gaza approached Whitmer.
"How do you justify genocide?" the protesters repeatedly screamed as Whitmer's security detail blocked them from coming into contact with her.
The protesters continued screaming, asking how Whitmer was able to "sleep at night," and what she was doing to help Palestinian children.
"I appreciate you raising your voice in here. I'm at a graduation meal with my daughter," Whitmer responded to the group before being interrupted.
"What about all of the children that are in mass graves? What about them?" one of the protesters yelled as Whitmer asked them to "respectfully" not be disruptive.
Whitmer responded that the situation in Gaza was "heartbreaking."
The governor previously condemned chants of "death to America" from anti-Israel protesters at a Dearborn rally in Michigan last month after facing criticism for taking more than a week to do so despite the Biden administration condemning the "abhorrent and antisemitic remarks in the strongest terms" almost immediately.

I don’t like Witless but she shouldn’t be harassed in her private life at her daughter’s graduation. I just hope these protestors show up at the Dem’s convention.

Oh, grieve for the denizens of Gaza. The worst example of self-induced grief and woe this world has seen in a while. The Jihadists claim, “See what you made us do!” But all the while, no matter how conciliatory the Israelis may be, the worst ragtag bunch of beggars in the Middle East still say, “What have you done for us lately?”
And for this tardy response on the part of Israel, a vicious, raging mob descended on the Israelis in a bloodthirsty burst of rape, pillage, murder, and kidnapping, without an ounce of remorse or pity. A note of caution to these lords of Gaza: do not poke the hornets’ nest with a stick. The Israelis respond with a vengeance that is Biblical in its proportions. Appeasement is not a consideration, and surrender is not an option.
Annihilation is near.
If the Gazans were truly panicked and starving, they would try to break out of Gaza. Since there is no break out attempt things can’t be so bad.
These are the same leftist politicians who have no problem gender grooming our children. My give-a-damn meter barely budged on this story.
