New Feature - Ability to add previously posted Thread to Topic

We now offer the ability for users to add an existing, previously posted thread to a topic or list of topics. This feature will support the migration of the bump list register to topics.

This new feature is found via the thread page (posts), in the righthand TOPICS column, and is labelled "Click to Add Topic". Clicking the link will bring up a form, which currently only prompts for a list of comma-separated topics. In the future, this will be a comprehensive topic select screen.

This is an experimental feature, in that, at the moment anyone can add any thread to any topic. Will this be abused? Probably. Will management be a nightmare? I hope not. I record into a log file all such adds, so rolling back any one user's adds will not be difficult.

Yes, users will be able to create topics. I like the idea of adding keywords too. We'll see how "Click to Add Topic" works out, and if it works we'll try keywords. I also want a "Related Links" list.

At one time it was mentioned that we would have the ability to change our screen names, is that something that is still in the works?

Thanks for the ping. I guess that means the end of brightly colored bump list flags. As far as anyone being able to add a topic - anyone can add a bumplist reference now if they want to.

As nifty as this is and all, I go away for a few hours and then come back and hit 'self-search' and I no longer see anything at top? Why can I no longer see if I have any messages when I do that?
