n a surprising turn of events, former Gov. Charlie Baker (R-Mass) seems to have a clear upper hand over Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) in a hypothetical match-up for a U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts.
A recent poll, courtesy of the Fiscal Alliance Foundation, has found that a whopping 49 percent of likely voters would support Baker should he decide to challenge Warren for her Senate seat. Warren is up for reelection in 2024 and lags behind Baker by 15 points, coming in at 34 percent. It seems the former governor’s popularity is still going strong, leaving his opponent with some catching up to do.
Contributing to his impressive lead is the fact that Baker, a moderate Republican, has a significant advantage among independent voters in the Bay State.
“Senator Warren has significantly higher unfavorable numbers than her fellow Democrats statewide and that seems to be creating an opening for Baker, who always enjoyed large amounts of cross-party appeal,” Fiscal Alliance Foundation spokesman Paul D. Craney said in a press release. “Looking at the cross tabs, Republicans seem to coalesce behind Baker (79%) in a way that Democrats do not around Warren (56%), and Baker leads with independent/unenrolled voters 2-1 at 57-26%.”

GREAT. VOTE HER OUT.
VOTE ALL DEMOCRATS OUT.
THEY DONT WANT A SECURE BORDER .
THEY ARE RUINING THUS GREAT COUNTRY.
“a moderate Republican”
I wonder how you define that these days. I’d guess today’s “moderate Republican” is far to the left of a pureblood Democrat from 40 years ago.
Is he in favor of unrestricted baby murder? Child mutilation? Teaching 3 year olds about kinky sex? No debt limit. Zero southern border?
Doubt it. The Dems will find some ballot boxes
Is Elizabeth Warren worse than Charlie Parker [as Biden called him]?
I am glad to hear ANY good news for the GOP.
On the other hand...
What happened the last time we put our confidence in a former Republican governor of Massachusetts?
Pocahontas? ... Or another Mitt Romney? ... sad choices.
I heard that Warren also filed to run for chief of the Cherokee Nation. That way if she loses her senate seat she’ll have something to fall back on.
Clever gal, our Liz.
Charlie Baker is not a strong conservative. Someone like him is the best bet to be elected as a Republican in Massachusetts.
Just wait til the 3am water break happens, than Warren ends up winning by 10+ points
Baker is basically a liberal, but he would vote at least 50% of the time with Republicans versus Pocahontas who has voted about 1% with Republicans.
The question is, would you take that trade, I would but some may not. Just to see Pocahontas concede on election night would be worth 6 years of Charlie Baker, especially if we got a few key votes from him.
Romney was the Governor of Massachusetts who is now a US Senator, Baker would probably be like Romney except slightly more liberal.
Baker may be somewhat better than Senator Warren in respect to his voting record. However, he would strengthen the RINO McConnell wing of the Senate. Conservatives have played the lesser of two evils game for decades, supporting liberal Republicans vs. leftist Democrats. That tactic has not worked.
If He's a half inch to the right of Warren, he's a better outcome. Take your wins where you can get them.
If they still have cheat-by-mail-in ballots with no signature verification in 2024 (and not one of the state legislatures has done anything to stop it), then she and other Democrats ‘in trouble’ will ‘win.’
Why would Charlie Parker give up his sweet deal with the NCAA? He is getting paid a lot of $$$ with enormous perks for doing very little work. No way he runs for the Senate.
It’s a Big Club and he ain’t in it................but he wants in.................
