Lionel Tate will get a rare second chance: another bite at the same plea agreement that his mother and his former attorney rejected before his 2001 trial for the murder of 6-year-old Tiffany Eunick.
Broward County prosecutors announced Friday they would allow Tate to plead guilty to second-degree murder in exchange for three years in a juvenile facility, followed by one year of house arrest and 10 years of probation. He would also have to do 1,000 hours of community service and get psychological treatment.

Pool bets: How many months before he is back in the spotlight for killing someone else? His plea in that killing, I'll bet, will be "slight mental retardation." And, for the long term pools, put me down for "age 26 when he finally is convicted to serve a life sentence," and "6 for the total number of dead at his hands before entering prison to serve life (other scores while in prison, of course, just pre-prison deaths).
