Prayers for My Niece, Please ...

If you would, FReepers, please pray for my brother's daughter, mother of two teenage girls, who was hospitalized in New Jersey yesterday for bronchitis and asthma. She was told that if she did not get to the hospital within several hours, she would die. She's been admitted but is not responding to current treatment and the Doctors do not know why.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that in Your hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. I pray, O God, that You would be for our beloved Becky the very breath that she needs right now. Refresh her lungs and halt the progress of her distress. Give wisdom to the Doctors and encouragement to her family ... see them through this crisis, in the Name of Jesus, I pray.

Pegita, you, your brother and especially your niece have my prayers. My son has been admitted in critical condition with asthma on several occasions. The docs have found that "heliox," a mixture of helium and oxygen, often works when plain oxygen doesn't. Please ask your brother if they are using that. We will hold up your niece and your family in prayer. God bless you all.

Please drill the doctors for information on what treatment she's getting. Also, has her regular attending physician been advised on her hospitalization? Sometimes they have treatments that have been sorted out beyond the "standard care" (which has a habit of being ineffective).

She should also be getting oxygen during respiratory distress; it'll at least allow her to breathe a little easier and perhaps get some rest.
