We'll be seeing more of this kind of defensive medicine--as in, the best defence is a good offence.

The doctor who performed an autopsy found that the fetus died two days before delivery and would have survived if Rowland had undergone a C-section when urged to do so.
A doctor can say that it is a probablility that the fetus would have lived but to make an absolute statement that it would have lived ("if only an operation had been performed") is nothing but arrogance and CYA.
