Has anyone checked voter registration records to see if Clarke is actually a registered Republican, as he claims to be?

According to Sid ... Clarke voted for McCain in the 2000 primaries
No mention of the general election

(Do you want a president who injects poison into his skull for vanity?)

Has anyone checked voter registration records to see if Clarke is actually a registered Republican, as he claims to be? I wouldn't doubt his claim. There are plenty of ambitious, blackmailed or bitter Republicans out there willing to sell their soul to the 'Rats. John McCain, Orrin Hatch, Arlen Spectre (misspelling intended) and Trent Lott quickly come to mind.

in Virginia we don't register by party. On primary day any registered voter can go to the polls and ask for either a Republican or (if there's a D primary the same day) a Democrat ballot.
