What part of "no" do they (our elected officials and the U.N.) not understand? The U.N. can't even control the elements of a simple weapons inspection, their own personal greed, or their own organization, let alone the oceans that cover some +/- 70% of the planet Earth.

Under UN control a new supranational agency has been created called the Seabed Authority.
An apt name for the UN bottom dwellers.

I say the treaty should rest on the Seabed, along with the UN and other post-relative materials.

The people behind the UN that want control of the seas are the same folks that controlled the seas when they owned and controlled Britain.

Who are they?

You find out!!

Will we let them get away with it? Will we see this massive piece of our liberty drown in the seas while we do nothing – again? A massive outcry of NO now will stop it. It just requires one phone call to your United States Senator. Here’s the number: 202-224-3121. Call it and stop the Law of the Sea Treaty and keep the seas of the world open and free – as they’ve always been.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'd pass it on to others. Just call your senator. Enough calls and the senate will kill this thing for sure.

This author STILL misses the most important aspect of this treaty. I'll just keep reposting this until people start to get it. The big issue with LOST isn't about the ocean; it's about land use control.

This global bureaucracy will justify control of land use to "protect" the marine environment. It isn't hard to see. Many oceanic species breed in estuaries within the United States. Estuarine health isn't doing very well for a number of reasons (many of which politicized science will conveniently miss). The estuaries are fed by rivers. The rivers are lined with cities.

Marine sanctuaries and global biospheres are model for what is planned for LOST. If all we accomplish is to alter the treaty to gain protection for our military, we will have missed the point.

LOST is a straitjacket fully capable of crippling this nation (which certainly affects its ability to defend itself). That the White House says it knows nothing about it belies the fact that, according to the email I get from ALRA, the White House and Chuck Hagel are the instigators in pushing this treaty through in the dark of night after the Reagan Administration had rejected it out of hand.

Every single time I think this puppy is dead, it comes back to life. What on God's green earth makes the UN think that some land locked dictatorship in Eurasia or Africa has the same voice as coastal powerhouses? Why should Licenwhateverthehellstein have the same voice as India? Why would China even consider such a thing to be valid?

And why would Austrailia, which has the largest open ocean waters to exploit, even consider such a treaty?

I've made my calls, my wife has made hers, my in laws have made theirs, my parents have made theirs, my siblings have made theirs -- If you're reading this and assuming that is just enough, that your effort doesn't matter... Well, you're on the wrong system. Pick up the phone, spend the twenty cents, and tell your senators what you think.

I wouldn't trust the UN to watch a stool sample. It is a greedy, power hungry instrument of evil.

"To achieve One World Government it is necessary to remove from the minds of men their individualism, their loyalty to family traditions and national identification."
Brock Chisolm, when director of UN World Health Organisation
