There was no missile. Flight 800 was brought down by a shoe bomb, Richard Reid-style. The explosion originated near Seat 23, only a few seats from where Reid himself was sitting...directly over the center fuel tank.
There might be a list name to search to find twa 800 stuff
maybe *twa800?
like the one for firearms ' *bang_list '. You put the list name in the "search for/poster" box on the messages page.
Clear as mud?
This is the list name - put it in the search for /poster box. you get all the threads - and you are not on a ping list.

In his article back then, Brennan's remarks concerning flight TWA 800 now come disturbingly to the fore considering the on-going fiasco of the 9-11 Whitewash Commission: "Let's begin with the matter of the downing of TWA 800. Despite the fact that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) had the authority and responsibility to assume the role of lead investigative body in the matter, the FBI barged in on the scene and took full control. Here's how the New York Times described relations between the FBI and the NTSB, on August 23, 1996: The most senior officials with the NTSB were 'furious with their own personnel at the scene, convinced that the agency had ceded control of the inquiry to the FBI.' · One NTSB investigator complained that 'overbearing' FBI agents 'immediately took control, and hampered a lot of things we did.'· NTSB officials portrayed the FBI as 'aggressive beyond propriety' and described an atmosphere of suspicion and distrust, believing that the FBI routinely withheld crucial information.
· This failure to share information was particularly focused on the FBI laboratory in Washington, which was characterized as a 'black hole.'
Clearly the Bureau was in charge and determined to make the probe come out the way they wanted [emphasis added]. And one of the things they wanted was to prevent the hundreds of eyewitness accounts of the disaster that all but proved that TWA 800 was downed by a missile from being admitted in evidence despite the fact that the testimony they wanted to suppress came from highly credible individuals [emphasis added].
The NTSB scheduled Public Hearings into the crash in Baltimore for December 8, 1997. Among the items slated for discussion were these eyewitness accounts. However, just days before the hearing the FBI pressured the NTSB to exclude those highly credible eyewitness reports and ban their live testimony from the hearings." In another of a long series of articles written by Brennan, he cites an account of the TWA 800 witness tampering by the FBI stating that, "Veteran naval aviator and crash investigator Comdr. William Donaldson said he had witnesses who heard George Gabrial, the senior FBI agent on Long Island and personal friend of [Assistant NY FBI Director, James] Kallstrom, and who was a close witness of the downing of TWA 800 when on his boat, that he believed what he had observed was a missile."
Brennan continues, "The bureau fought tooth and nail to cover up the fact that testimony given by hundreds of eyewitnesses all but proved that TWA 800 was downed by a missile. And many witnesses said FBI agents badgered them to change their testimony." Brennan also states that according to another source, " Kallstrom told a high-ranking New York State official that the FBI would not find that a missile shot down the plane because the American people couldn't handle it."
So the several hundred Eyewitnesses saw a SHOE rocketing up to hit TWA-800 in the vicinity of Seat 23?
BULLPUCKY!
You might as well stick with the spontaneous combustion of the Center Wing Tank...
An assertion; an assuption.
TRY something FACTUAL for a change, besides conspiracy-laden techno-bable: aviation-safety.net/specials/twa800/index.htm
On 17 July 1996 a Trans World Airlines Boeing 747, registered N93119 departed New York-JFK for a flight (TWA 800) to Paris.TRY competent pilot witnesses:
About 12 minutes after takeoff, while climbing through 13700ft, an explosion occurred and the aircraft broke up. Flaming debris fell into the sea. All 229 occupants were killed.
Pilot witnessesMost of the airborne witnesses were pilots and experienced observers of aircraft.
Consequently, they are believed to be especially trained, qualified, and credible observers.
These observers can be especially useful because their statements to air traffic controllers are often recorded, and because radar data can be used to determine their position and altitude at a given time.
The captain of Eastwind flight 507 told the witness group that he had observed a "pretty bright landing light" and that he watched it "on and off for over two minutes, minimum, but I probably had seen him [the light] for over five minutes." (From page 19 of the interview transcript, which appears as Appendix Z to the Witness Group Chairman?s Factual Report).
The captain of Eastwind flight 507 was not the only airborne witness to report seeing what he described as landing lights.
Document CC3-416 notes that Witness 702, who was operating a general aviation airplane reported that he "spotted a white light which suddenly exploded into a giant red orange ball."33
However, at 0042:11, Witness 702 (or another person aboard the same aircraft) advised air traffic control, "we saw landing lights facing us and all of a sudden it turned into a bright orange flame"
There were more than 50 "witnesses" who "saw" an "object" strike JFK Jr.'s plane before it plunged. Over 100 witnesses "saw" a "missile strike" the Airbus over Queens whose tail actually fell off. Eyewitness accounts in such situations are totally unreliable. Besides, nearly half of the Flight 800 "eyewitnesses" were partygoers at an East Moriches bash, and were hardly sober at the time, and likely coordinated their stories.
The missile theory is totally bizarre and full of holes, besides being very unlikely a scenario. The Richard Reid approach is well-supported by ACTUAL evidence (placement, result, debris). Similarly, if Reid has succeeded, we would NEVER have been told.
Indeed...Let's try this one, for starters!
Major Fritz Meyer piloted the first helicopter to arrive over the crash scene. In an interview with the NTSB on January 11, 1997 (NTSB Docket No.SA-516 Appendix O) Meyer stated:
"I saw in front of me and slightly to my left of dead front I saw a streak of light in the sky. I observed it for somewhere in approximately three to five seconds moving in a gradually descending arc - sort of a gentle descending trajectory. Similar to that which you would observe that night if you observed a shooting star. The difference is that it was red-orange in color and it was broad daylight. I observed a streak of light for 3 to 5 seconds. And then I saw an explosion. And about one to two seconds after that I saw a second, and possibly a third, explosion. Now, these were hard explosions. This looked like flak. It's a hard explosion. It's like an HPX explosion, as opposed to a soft explosion like gasoline, or something. .... And then from that approximate position emanated this fireball, which was a soft explosion. And it was definitely petroleum."
Perhaps in 1996, but post 9-11?
Similarly, if Reid has succeeded, we would NEVER have been told.
And if the second and third aircraft had not hit the second tower and the Pentagon, the collision with the first tower would have been reported as nothing but a horrendous accident--possibly a drunk or deranged pilot with a sex scandel looming, conveniently unable to defend himself due to being dead, dead, dead.
Please provide your sources for all of the twaddle you posted above.
I doubt you will find any.
JFK jr plane went down with NO witnesses. The authorities searched for 3 hours before finding debris based on a transponder signal.
The Airbus over Queens witnesses claimed FIRE and SMOKE coming from the cabin area behind the wing. Suspicion was on a shoe bomb. Only one or two witnesses claimed something rising to meet the Airbus. incidentally, it was not just the tail; BOTH engines also broke off from their pylons.
Half of the Flight 800 witnesses were NOT at the Moriches bash and drunk.
Why is an event that has happened 29 times that we know of (Missile shootdown of civilian aircraft) be an unlikely scenario???
Besides, Montag813, analysis of the amount of plastique explosive in Reid's shoe shows that he would have succeeded in killing himself and perhaps blowing out the side of the plane, but it was insufficient to bring down the aircraft.
