Saudi Police Torture Indian Catholic for His Faith
Zenit.org ^ | JUNE 2, 2004 | VATICAN CITY

VATICAN CITY, JUNE 2, 2004 (Zenit.org).- A Catholic Indian citizen was arrested and tortured in Saudi Arabia because of his faith, according to L'Osservatore Romano.

The semiofficial Vatican newspaper, quoting sources of the Fides missionary agency and the Indian bishops' conference, said that Brian Savio O'Connor was imprisoned about six months ago by the Mutawa, the Saudi religious police.

Taken to the Ali Hira prison in Riyadh, the accused was threatened with death if he did not convert to Islam, his brothers, Raymond and James, said.

The O'Connor brothers confirmed that Brian "has been incarcerated for six months and tortured with the intention of obliging him to abjure his faith," L'Osservatore Romano's Italian edition reported today. Sources said the accused is now in the Olaya prison.

"Officially the Mutawa has accused O'Connor of using drugs and praying to Jesus Christ, accusations which imply he runs the risk of being punished with the death penalty," the Vatican newspaper stated.

"The family says that the proofs of his use of drugs have been fabricated by the police, while it does not deny that Brian is a good Christian," the newspaper added. ZE04060202

We should just tell the Muslims we are evacuating all the Dhimmis (people of the book, which are Jews and Christians) from their rotten countries. Then, after that, we blow those countries off the planet. Then, we will see much less slavery, murder, rape, etc. in the world.

If they're so insecure they need to kidnap and threaten non-Muslims with death to gain converts, its not a religion any one would want to voluntarily join.

This brave soul is the definition of what a real martyr is. A Christian who, under torture and threat of death, refuses to renounce his faith. Pray for him, that God will keep him safe from these low life barbarians.

Their death threats are pretty effective though. Millions of people are unable to examine their religion, knowing they'd likely want to leave it if they stopped and looked at it but then they'd be murdered. Plus look at the way the democrats want to surrender already because they're so afraid.

OK, the Pope was quick to blast the U.S. for invading Iraq and all of our other "sins" while setting the Iraqis free. Will he condemn Saudi Arabia's actions?

Just evacuate, they will collapse of their own weight. Islam is not productive, like a virus it must have a host to feed on to prosper.

Even their oil wells were built by dhimmis...

Isn't there somewhere we can write to put pressure on the Saudis to release him? The Saudi Govt, the US govt, the Indian govt?

Now this is an opportunity for the politically correct media to make a big thing out of TORTURE IN SAUDI PRISON.

Will they blow it up like they did to the A.G. prison debacle? Not very likely....
