'Ron Brown's Body' No. 4 best-seller
WorldNetDaily ^ | 7/11/04 | WorldNetDaily

For the second week in a row, Jack Cashill's "Ron Brown's Body: How One Man's Death Saved the Clinton Presidency and Hillary's Future," the book about the mysterious death of the former Commerce secretary and head of the Democratic National Committee, is riding high among the nation's best-sellers.

The book is currently the No. 4 non-fiction best-seller at Amazon.com – ahead of such high-profile big releases as "Plan of Attack," by Bob Woodward, "Against All Enemies" by Richard Clarke and "Rewriting History" by Dick Morris.

"Ron Brown's Body" is a new release from WND Books, a partnership of WorldNetDaily and Thomas Nelson Publishers.

Last week, sparked by an appearance on C-Span by Cashill, "Ron Brown's Body" rose to No. 2 on Amazon's non-fiction best-sellers list. It is has also been as high as No. 2 on BestBlackBooks.com's top 100, the definitive best-seller list for black-themed books.

Cashill makes a powerful case that in the run-up to the 1996 election, the media reflexively overlooked the mysterious circumstances of Brown's death and TWA Flight 800's demise – the subject of his previous book, with James Sanders, "First Strike" – lest their investigations jeopardize Bill Clinton's re-election.

This is quite interesting, the more people who buy this book the more people learn the truth about the Clinton's corruption and crimes. Also, Amazon is so much more accurate than the NYT, the Slimes just seems to poll their favorite leftist bookstores and extrapolates an average from there.

I think we need a song, to the tune of "John Brown's Body" aka "Battle Hymn of the Republic."

Ron Brown's body lies a mouldering in the grave,

Ron Brown's body lies a mouldering in the grave,

Ron Brown's body lies a mouldering in the grave,

His soul is marching on.

Jack was on CSPAN2's booknotes yesterday. He was speaking at 'what I think' was a black Baptist church in Kansas City. His comments were factual and not what someone might think of as firing from the hip. His presentation was very effective, the portion I witnessed.

IIRC Brown was the focus of an important corruption inquiry.

Many thought he would turn prosecution witness and America would finally put the capos of the Arkansas mafia into prison.

But, of course, dead men tell no tales . . .

I caught the author briefly on CSPIN and heard him mention TWA 800.......

He also made a comment about X42 administration not wanting to know the truth because that would mean taking action. Something they definitely did NOT want to do.

Am so glad this book is getting attention. And pray that it adds to the concerns of folks not informed enough to make a rational decision about voting this November.

I saw that too. It was the same appearance referred to in the article. BookTV has shown it the last two weekends. I've seen it twice now and could watch it again.

BTW, Cashill spends a number of minutes talking about that piece of video during the BookTV talk.

I will never forget the line from Klinton during his eulogy of Brown. Klinton looked over at the casket and said "Ron if you weren't there, I wouldn't be here." I always found that to be a bit ironic.

hi,
i cant really see that because it's so tiny-- but it looks like he's smiling, and then when he sees the camera he puts on a solemn look and wipes his eyes as if he was crying.
i wish i could see a high res version of this.

I liked his touching on Gorelik. He didn't really branch off into other issues, but he did tease a bit about TWA800, OKC and some others. He did say he wasn't an expert on them though, although his comments might lead folks to check those topics out.

I believe that one day -- maybe in the distant future -- forensic technology will advance to the point that the full truth about Brown's death will be known. May not be in time to do those of us alive now any good, but......

A college buddy of mine died on that plane along with Ron Brown. I've been comforted in a way by the notion that his death was an accident - these things happen. If it turns out my friend was murdered it won't just be Ron Brown's friends that will be enraged. I've got to get this book.
