Earle responded to the fray in Sunday's NYT. In the editorial, he noted he has prosecuted 15 public figures, 12 of them Democrats. I haven't seen anybody dispute the numbers. In addition, after the editorial, the partisan accusations seriously slowed, indicating the numbers are accurate.

I do know Earle successfully prosecuted a Democratic Speaker of the House and A Democrat on the Supreme Court, although I forget what the charges were.

DeLay is a loose cannon. At the very least, he walks a Clintonesque line of legality. The fact that three of his associates are under indictment indicates (to me at least) there are some ethical problems. Nixon tried to argue he didn't know anything, and look how far that got him.

Well, without the hard facts, I don't trust any Democrat to decide what is ethical. Plus, anything coming from the NYT is questionable in it's accuracy, and has pretty much zero credibility with me anyway.

The NYT's would print that the world is flat as a fact if the Democrats wanted them to.

I like Tom Delay, and find no need to object to his tactics in hand to hand combat with the Taliban wing in Congress. Dems always expect someone ELSE to play by the rules, and they have plenty of useful idiots in the press to give *them* a pass.

No.. it's time for hardball.. Heck, it's time for big balls. Get ready to rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrumble!! :)
