Democratic vice presidential candidate and former senator John Edwards [related, bio] will be among visiting fellows at Harvard University's Institute of Politics this spring, the school announced yesterday.

Edwards, 51, of North Carolina ran for the Democratic nomination for president before being chosen as U.S. Sen. John Kerry's running mate last year.

He will join U.S. Rep. Jim Kolbe (R-Ariz.) and Michael Deaver, international vice chairman of Edelman Worldwide and former deputy chief of staff to President Ronald Reagan.

Typically, visiting fellows meet with various student groups to discuss topical issues and their experiences in public and political service; give a public address in the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum; and participate in a public policy class with students and Kennedy School of Government faculty.

It was reported that he has some other gig at a university in North Carolina. Edwards doesn't work, he needs a real job, IMHO.

John Edwards has the authenticity of Ward Churchill, but better hair. In your face, CU!

Edwards is pursuing the ALGORE career track.

Watch for puff pieces to appearin the Boston Globe and NY Times about how the students love his lectures and about what great insights edwards brings to the campus. That is the only way to keep his name in the news. (If they could only keep him from bolting out of the room mid-lecture to chase those ambulence sirens).

Clue to help those Harvard students--watch out for those trick questions on Edward's exams about Chaney's daughter.

"Ex-Kerry running mate..."

Geez, how quickly a failed V.P. candidate's name fades into obscurity. His full name would have taken fewer characters but I guess they felt most people wouldn't recognize it.

I thought he was supposed to be helping his wife through her cancer fight. Seems to me his political future is more important than being by his wife's side while she fights breast cancer.

He'd be better suited at a Doris' Beauty School.
