Pray for President Bush - Day 1635
Pray for President Bush ^ | 3/10/05 | kayak

Matthew 5: 14-16

"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

Heavenly Father,

You are the Creator of Light and of all of life; the One who gives us every good and perfect gift. We bow before You, the Lord God Almighty, in gratitude for our material blessings; our families; our brothers and sisters in the faith; and, especially, for our forgiveness and salvation through the Light of the World who took all our sins upon Himself and suffered on the Cross. Yet You, O Lord, did not let the story end there in darkness but raised Him from the dead to life eternal, which is the promise You also give to us. Thank You, O Father! Thank You!

We lift up to You our President, a man who lets his light shine before all the world that You might be glorified. Father, his tasks are difficult and there are many who try to make the challenge even greater by attacking his every word and deed. Bless him with wisdom, patience, discernment, courage, determination, vision, and love. Let his marriage continue to be a refuge from the ugliness of the political world in which he functions; and draw the President and Laura closer to You and to each other with each passing day. Watch over them and their families and guard them all from harm.

Lord, through the valiant efforts of our military, the light of freedom is growing ever brighter throughout the world. Be their Shield and their Protector as they serve in places fraught with danger, far from home and loved ones. If they do not know You, then let them open their hearts to You that they may serve the Risen Savior as well as they serve their homeland. Give encouragement to their families. Heal the bodies and the spirits that have been broken in defense of liberty. And bring comfort and strength to the families who lost a hero in battle.

There are many in our nation who would hide Your word and Your very Name under a basket, hoping to extinguish the Light. But we know, Father, that You are greater than he that directs their paths and that You have already won the victory over evil. Show us Your way, O Lord, and light our paths that we might work to further Your Kingdom here on earth. In the Name of our beloved Savior, Jesus, the Christ. Amen.

In addition to our President, his family and his administration; our military and their families; and our nation let us also pray for healing for Bill Clinton and for the Pope; and for life Terri Schiavo and for the unborn.

I would also like to direct your attention to this thread and ask for your prayers for wee little Malachi and his family.

Agreeing with you in prayer.

There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a Spirit who brings a fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home

So carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

Frustrated brother, see how he's tried to
Light his own candle some other way
See now your sister, she's been robbed and lied to
Still holds a candle without a flame

So carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

Cause We are a family whose hearts are blazing
So let's raise our candles and light up the sky
Praying to our Father, in the name of Jesus
Make us a beacon in darkest times

So carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, deceived and poor
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world

Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world
Go Light Your World, Chris Rice

AMEN KAYAK AND AMEN ALL!

GRACE,PEACE,MERCY AND INFINITE BLESSINGS TO ALL BRETHREN!

"Thou shalt be called, Sought out."
- Isaiah 62:12

The surpassing grace of God is seen very clearly in that we were not only
sought, but sought out. Men seek for a thing which is lost upon the floor
of the house, but in such a case there is only seeking, not seeking out.
The loss is more perplexing and the search more persevering when a thing
is sought out. We were mingled with the mire: we were as when some
precious piece of gold falls into the sewer, and men gather out and
carefully inspect a mass of abominable filth, and continue to stir and
rake, and search among the heap until the treasure is found.
Or, to use another figure, we were lost in a labyrinth; we wandered
hither and thither, and when mercy came after us with the gospel, it did
not find us at the first coming, it had to search for us and seek us out;
for we as lost sheep were so desperately lost, and had wandered into such
a strange country, that it did not seem possible that even the Good
Shepherd should track our devious roamings.
Glory be to unconquerable grace, we were sought out! No gloom could hide
us, no filthiness could conceal us, we were found and brought home.
Glory be to infinite love, God the Holy Spirit restored us!

The lives of some of God's people, if they could be written would fill us
with holy astonishment. Strange and marvellous are the ways which God used
in their case to find his own. Blessed be his name, he never relinquishes
the search until the chosen are sought out effectually.
They are not a people sought to-day and cast away to-morrow.
Almightiness and wisdom combined will make no failures, they shall be
called, "Sought out!" That any should be sought out is matchless grace,
but that we should be sought out is grace beyond degree! We can find no
reason for it but God's own sovereign love, and can only lift up our heart
in wonder, and praise the Lord that this night we wear the name of "Sought
out.
"

Amen, our Master, You are Undefeatable; our Savior, our Lord, our Great King, our Champion! You have Conquered Sin, Hell, and Death, and You Reign in Righteousness and Justice upon Eternity's Throne. Be Exalted, our Holy One, in Your Strength, Your Sovereignty, and Your Authority, and Receive the Gratitude from Your children for All You have Done! Satan has been broken 'Without Hand;' our Shackles were Shattered, and we Went Forth, Unhindered, into the King's Sweet Liberty!

We Worship You, Your Majesty! Thank You for Surrounding us with Lord Jesus' Great Victory! May many in our Nation be Made to Know the Freedom from Sin in Jesus Christ our Lord, and may our America be Moved to Dwell in Righteousness Once Again.

We Love You, our Savior, and Pray in Your Beautiful Name, amen.

Amen to all the great prayers and thoughts here.

Lord, increase our light, and our willingness and ability to show it to a dying world. And may our nation also be a light to the world. Thank you for all Your blessings, but most of all for the restored relationship that is in Christ Jesus. We pray for all the wounded and brokenhearted, that You would make a way where there is none. May all things take place according to Your perfect will. For we need not fear Your will, only our own.
