Father, we hold up to Your throne our brother in Christ, President Bush, asking that You give him divine guidance in each decision he must make. Keep him deep in Your word, and in prayer. Speak to him throughout the day, and into the night, giving him a vision for where to take America, and how to lead in the world. We are humbled that in Your mercy You have chosen a man of integrity and strength, a man who honors You, and honors Life, to lead us during these days. Father, Your mercy and grace overwhelm us! If there is anything he can do to save the life of Terri Schiavo, or anything his brother Jeb can do, we ask that You might speak to them and show them the way in which to go.
Lord, we do bring before You Terri Schiavo, asking that You would miraculously intervene, and ease her suffering, and bring her comfort, and Lord, if it is Your will, overrule the judges who wish only death on her, and save her life. Father, we place this dear woman in Your loving hands, and pray that her tears, and her family's tears might result in songs of joy. Speak to them, and bring them to Your side, and help them to know that many are lifting them up in prayer, and help them to trust You completely with their daughter's and sister's life. Lord, we do pray that, knowing that You are a Loving and Sovereign God, whatever happens You will use this for Your glory. We pray that this might be the shocking truth that awakens those who are indifferent to what has happened to make America a culture of death, so that they would be on their knees in repentance. Guide us, O Lord, to know what we must do to return to a country where life is sacred, and the handicapped, and unwanted are not removed for our convenience. Help our President as he leads this fight, and keep him strong in spirit and in truth, and bold in word and deed, and help all of Your children to do so, as well, so that this might be a turning point in the life of America.
Father, we continue to pray for our brave members of the military, especially those who are serving in harm's way. Place a shield of protection over them, we pray, and bring them comfort and peace as they are away from family and home. Speak to them, and wrap Your loving arms around them. Lord, we pray for those among them who name the Name of Jesus Christ, that they might be witnesses of Your love to their fellow soldiers, and to the people in Iraq and Afghanistan who desperately need to hear the Good News that Jesus loved them enough to die for their sins. We thank You for the birth pangs of freedom that are being felt all through the Middle East, and we know, dear Lord, that the freedom that is growing there is from the seed You have planted in the heart of President Bush, and we pray that their freedom might result in sheaves of joy throughout that entire region.
Father, we do thank You for Your abundant blessings on our land; for our freedom to worship, and speak, and assemble as we wish. We ask that You might lead and guide every leader in America; national, state and local, chastising them where they have failed, and encouraging them where they have stood firm. We thank You for each member of Congress who has taken a stand for life, and we ask that You bless them beyond measure for what they have done. Heal our land, we pray, O LORD, in the Name of Jesus, our Savior we pray, Amen!
Please bring your earnest prayers for our President and our land before the Throne of Grace tonight!
Prayers up for our courageous president! [. . . the photo touched my heart!]
I'll pray hard that he writes an executive order to save an innocent woman's life before she dehydrates to death.
Our father, who are in heaven, Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come.... As it is IN heaven...so shall it be IN earth. You give us back, this day, the life of Terri. You forgive her trespeasses, and forgive especially those who have trespassed against her. And you now deliver her from the evil that would kill her before her time. Now, you reinsert the feeding tube she needs by your all powerful hand working though just men and women this night. You lead us no further into the darkness of socialism and decay, but have now delivered us from the hand of evil and betrayal, and for this we are grateful. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Thanks to you that you have made all this so right now. Amen
(The photo was from 9/11/02, meeting with the families at Ground Zero.......but I thought it fit today).
Pray that he does God's will for him and for the spiritual life of this country........no matter what that might be!
That is part of praying for wisdom for him, Wing. Please do so in earnestness and love.
Thank you for praying for her.
Praying for our President and for a miracle for Terri tonight. Thank you for your beautiful prayer, ohio.
Our God is a God of Miracles, Faith! Thank you for praying!

Amen to the earnest and thoughtful prayers on this thread, Lord God.
Please hear our prayers. We pray these things in the name of our Savior, Jesus.
AMEN OHIO AND AMEN ALL!
Lord Jesus,
Give me to love thee, to embrace thee,
though I once took lust and sin in my arms.
Thou didst love me before I loved thee,
an enemy, a sinner, a loathsome worm.
Thou didst own me when I disclaimed myself;
Thou dost love me as a son,
and weep over me as over Jerusalem.
Love brought thee from heaven to earth,
from earth to the cross,
from the cross to the grave.
Love caused thee to be
weary, hungry, tempted,
scorned, scourged,
buffeted, spat upon,
crucified, and pierced.
Love led thee to bow thy head in death.
My salvation is the point where
perfect created love
and the most perfect uncreated love
meet together;
for thou dost welcome me,
not like Joseph and his brothers,
loving and sorrowing, but loving and rejoicing.
This love is not intermittent, cold, changeable;
it does not cease or abate for all my enmity.
Holiness is a spark from thy love
kindled to a flame in my heart by thy Spirit,
and so it ever turns to the place
from which it comes.
Let me see thy love everywhere,
not only in the cross,
but in the fellowship of believers
and in the world around me.
When I feel the warmth of the sun
may I praise thee who art the Sun of righteousness
with healing power.
When I feel the tender rain
may I think of the gospel showers
that water my soul.
When I walk by the river side
may I praise thee for that stream that makes
the eternal city glad, and washes white my robes
that I may have the right to the tree of life.
Thy infinite love is a mystery of mysteries,
and my eternal rest lies
in the eternal enjoyment of it.
A PURITANS PRAYER!
"His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the
ground."
- Luke 22:44
The mental pressure arising from our Lord's struggle with temptation, so
forced his frame to an unnatural excitement, that his pores sent forth
great drops of blood which fell down to the ground. This proves how
tremendous must have been the weight of sin when it was able to crush the
Saviour so that he distilled great drops of blood! This demonstrates the
mighty power of his love. It is a very pretty observation of old Isaac
Ambrose that the gum which exudes from the tree without cutting is always
the best. This precious camphire-tree yielded most sweet spices when it
was wounded under the knotty whips, and when it was pierced by the nails
on the cross; but see, it giveth forth its best spice when there is no
whip, no nail, no wound. This sets forth the voluntariness of Christ's
sufferings, since without a lance the blood flowed freely. No need to put
on the leech, or apply the knife; it flows spontaneously. No need for the
rulers to cry, "Spring up, O well;" of itself it flows in crimson
torrents. If men suffer great pain of mind apparently the blood rushes to
the heart. The cheeks are pale; a fainting fit comes on; the blood has
gone inward as if to nourish the inner man while passing through its
trial.
But see our Saviour in his agony; he is so utterly oblivious of self,
that instead of his agony driving his blood to the heart to nourish
himself, it drives it outward to bedew the earth.
The agony of Christ, inasmuch as it pours him out upon the ground,
pictures the fulness of the offering which he made for men.
Do we not perceive how intense must have been the wrestling through which
he passed, and will we not hear its voice to us? "Ye have not yet resisted
unto blood, striving against sin." Behold the great Apostle and High
Priest of our profession, and sweat even to blood rather than yield to the
great tempter of your souls.
C.H.SPURGEON
SOLI DEO GLORIA!
"I will fear no evil, For You, O Lord, are with me".......may the Schindlers feel Your presence, dear Father, as they go through this valley of the shadow of death, and of evil. Amen.
Thank you, kayak.
Such an appropriate Spurgeon passage during this week when we remember the tremendous suffering of our Savior, Jesus Christ, alpha. Thank you!
Pray, dear Jesus that Michael Schiavo may have a change of heart, may he realize the harm that may occur to other disabled and disadvantaged persons in that the actions of his attorneys may impact them. Lord soften his heart...In Jesus name we pray
