Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In His great mercy, He has given us new birth into a living hope
Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

I Peter 1: 3

TOPICS: Culture/Society; Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: afghanistan; iraq; laurabush; pray; prayforbushlist; presidentbush
Dear Heavenly Father, we celebrate the Resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who suffered and died for our sins, and was not conquered by death, but arose again the third day. We know that if Christ had not been raised, our faith would be futile, and we would still be dead in our sins, but we praise You tonight for the historic Resurrection, and the fact that Jesus is alive indeed!

Lord, we continue to be in awe that You gave us a leader in President Bush who honors You with his life, and we bring him before You tonight in prayer. We pray that he might remain humble before You, asking You in everything for wisdom and guidance. We pray that he might continue to read Your word with discipline, and to pray without ceasing as he makes myriads of important decisions daily. We thank You that during these troubled days, that he stands firm for a culture of life, and we ask that You would guide him and help him to do that which is right in Your sight, and not in the sight of the world. We also ask that he continue to seek Your will and Your ways in every aspect of his life.

We thank You, Lord tonight for the safety of our First Lady Laura as she traveled to Afghanistan to encourage the women there, and to meet with our troops in Kabul. We also task that You continue to bless and protect them both as they serve You first, and then this nation. Bless their marriage and keep it firmly grounded in You, O Father. Increase their love and commitment to each other, as they deepen in love and commitment to Your Son, Jesus.

Father, we lift up all of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who are serving in harm's way. Place a great shield of protection over them, we pray, and comfort them as they are far away from home. We pray for swift and sure victories over the evil ones in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and we thank You, Lord, for the great progress that is being made in each of those countries.

Father, we are so encouraged by the word that the Gospel......the Good News, of the love of Your Son, Jesus, is spreading throughout the Middle East as a great fire. We know that it is in part because You have used our President and our military to open the doors of freedom there, and we ask that You would bless the Christian ministries and help them to flourish.

Finally, dear Lord, we bring this fallen nation before You, and ask for Your forgiveness for where we have sinned. Lord, we know that the tragic situation of the murder of Terri Schiavo is a symptom of a greater disease, and that is that life is no longer sacred for many in America. We have chosen to murder our unborn babies by the millions with almost no response from the Christian community, and we have begun down the road of euthanasia with little outcry from the righteous. Bring us to our knees in repentance, we pray, O LORD, and use this situation as a wake up call to shake us out of our complacency and inertia. We beg Your forgivness, and we ask that You use us, Your children to do Your will in America. Help us to speak boldly and without fear for the sanctity of all human life, and help us to do so with the sweet fragrance of Your love.......not in hate and anger, but in courage and confidence in Your unfailing love and grace. Thank You, dear Father, that You hear and answer prayer. In the name of Jesus, who is the Risen Christ, we pray, Amen!

Much that has been said in the name of Christ on this forum (and throughout the country) in the past week has not been of God, Faith.

I have been burdened to pray especially for Free Republic. I believe we are under demonic attack.

Thanks for praying with me for that!

Agreeing with you in prayer.

These are the days
For the children of faith
To stand up and be counted
Now is the time
For the light in us to shine
On whoever's around it

One life can be the proof
Of the hope that is You

I'm gonna live what I belive
I'm gonna walk that line
If it costs me everything
I'm gonna stand for what is right
So that everyone can see
It's Jesus that they need
I'm gonna live what I believe

The world will see God's grace
When we work and we pray
And then love like we mean it
If there's ever been a day
To give ourselves away
Well, I think we're in it

There's a passion deep inside
For my life to testify

Lord, let me be used
As a witness for You
With faith and conviction
You've called me by Your name
And I will not be ashamed

Gonna walk that line
I'm gonna stand for what is right
Hey, it's Jesus that they need
Live What I Believe, Russ Lee & Doug McKelvey

Our Gracious Father,

We come before You to Worship our King, Thanking You for Your Sacrifice on our Behalf. You are our Life, our Strength, and our Hope, and we would be Lost without Your Grace. Thank You for Enduring the Cross for us, for Setting us Free from the Bondage of Sin.

We Lift Up to You our dear brother-President, Pleading that You will Keep him Firmly on Your Path. Never let his Feet Stumble or Slide, and Help him to Set Christ Before him in All Things. Make him Strong in Thy Word, Great King, and Bring Forth Much Fruit in his Life, to Your Praise. May he be Respected and Feared in the Eyes of his Enemies, Always Triumphing Over them through Jesus Christ.

Our Prayers Continue for our sister in the Faith, Pleading that she will be Rescued from her Fate! Our Master, Nothing is Impossible with Thee; Hear or Cries for Deliverance for Thy Lamb! May her Soul be Refreshed with Thy Living Water, and her Spirit Nourished with the Manna from on High. We Love her, Papa-Father, and Beg for our Terri Your Most Abundant, Overflowing Grace. Cover her, Loving Lord, with Your Mercy and Love Unmeasured, Easing her Distress, and Banishing Away her Pain. Bring her Tormentors to Justice, Great King, Recompensing them on the Day of Jesus Christ.

Thank You for Your Blessings Upon our Military, Dear Lord, and for Your Long-suffering Toward our Backslidden, Wicked Nation. Revive us, Lord God, and Lead our America Back to the Path that Leads to Life. We Magnify Your Name, Great King of saints, Praising You, and Exalting You, Sweet Master, amen.

AMEN OHIO AND AMEN ALL!
GRACE,PEACE,MERCY,INFINITE BLESSING AND PEACE PRAYED FOR ALL BRETHREN!

O Lord,

Help me never to expect any happiness

from the world, but only in thee.

Let me not think that I shall be more happy

by living to myself,

for I can only be happy if employed for thee,

and if I desire to live in this world

only to do and suffer what thou dost allot me.

Teach me

that if I do not live a life that satisfies thee,

I shall not live a life that will satisfy myself.

Help me to desire the spirit and temper of angels

who willingly come down to this lower world

to perform thy will,

though their desires are heavenly,

and not set in the least upon earthy things;

then I shall be of that temper I ought to have.

Help me not to think of living to thee

in my own strength,

but always to look to and rely on thee

for assistance.

Teach me that there is no greater truth than this,

that I can do nothing of myself.

Lord, this is the life that no unconverted man

can live,

yet it is an end that every godly soul

presses after;

Let it be then my concern to devote myself

and all to thee.

Make me more fruitful and more spiritual,

for barrenness is my daily affliction and load.

How precious is time, and how painful to see it fly

with little done to good purpose!

I need thy help:

O may my soul sensibly depend upon thee

for all sanctification,

and every accomplishment of thy purposes

for me, for the world,

and for thy kingdom.

A PURITANS PRAYER!

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord."
- Lamentations 3:40

The spouse who fondly loves her absent husband longs for his return; a
long protracted separation from her lord is a semi-death to her spirit:
and so with souls who love the Saviour much, they must see his face, they
cannot bear that he should be away upon the mountains of Bether, and no
more hold communion with them. A reproaching glance, an uplifted finger
will be grievous to loving children, who fear to offend their tender
father, and are only happy in his smile. Beloved, it was so once with you.
A text of Scripture, a threatening, a touch of the rod of affliction, and
you went to your Father's feet, crying, "Show me wherefore thou contendest
with me?" Is it so now? Are you content to follow Jesus afar off? Can you
contemplate suspended communion with Christ without alarm? Can you bear to
have your Beloved walking contrary to you, because you walk contrary to
him? Have your sins separated between you and your God, and is your heart
at rest? O let me affectionately warn you, for it is a grievous thing when
we can live contentedly without the present enjoyment of the Saviour's
face. Let us labour to feel what an evil thing this is-little love to our
own dying Saviour, little joy in our precious Jesus, little fellowship
with the Beloved! Hold a true Lent in your souls, while you sorrow over
your hardness of heart. Do not stop at sorrow! Remember where you first
received salvation. Go at once to the cross. There, and there only, can
you get your spirit quickened.
No matter how hard, how insensible, how dead we may have become, let us
go again in all the rags and poverty, and defilement of our natural
condition.
Let us clasp that cross, let us look into those languid eyes, let us
bathe in that fountain filled with blood-this will bring back to us our
first love; this will restore the simplicity of our faith, and the
tenderness of our heart.

C.H.SPURGEON!

SOLI DEO GLORIA!

Amen, ohio and all.

Father, there is much to be encouraged about in our land. Laura Bush going to Afghanistan shows great courage. The opening of lands long locked up against the Gospel is what it's all about; all we ask is a fair hearing. The winds of democracy blowing through those lands are historic and inspirational. We will have to persevere, because the enemy will not give up without a fight.

But there are also terrible signs we must deal with. An innocent person is being put to death in Florida. It's being done with full legal sanction, and in a way that we seldom impose even on grievous criminals. We ask that wisdom and courage be given the authorities, that her life would be spared. But if this is not to be, I ask that a great grace be poured out on her to make her suffering both bearable and redemptive. May she be united with Christ on the Cross as she endures her passion. May her family receive like comfort.

Father, You can work anything for good, even tragedy. Unless a grain of wheat fall to the earth and die, it abides alone; but if it dies it bears much fruit. We pray that Terri will live, and we believe she can be restored with proper care. But if it is not to be, we ask that this be the birth of a great cultural move towards reverence for life. We have seen far too much of crime against the weaker members of society, and against the national trust. Our culture has in large measure lost it vision and purpose, and without vision a people perish. Profane selfishness has rushed in to take the place of godliness, and indeed is exalted as a virtue, and we bear the terrible cultural fruit thereof. Sadly, much of our enemies' criticisms against us in the world rings true.

We need Revival more than ever. We know it is happening incrementally, but the need is urgent; lives are at stake, as we are clearly seeing. And as has been mentioned here, Your voice is a minority even among the conservative movement. We as Christians need to acknowledge that, and realize that although we can work alongside others, our purposes are ultimately much higher than any mere political cause, and there is a point of differentiation that sometimes needs to be made, lest we fall into a carnal mindset.

Help us to stay the course and cleave to You, Who are both the Author and Finisher of our Salvation. May Your purposes prevail in all things, to the increase of Your glory.

Our Heavenly Father, we come to You with heavy hearts for all the evil going on in the world this day. We pray for President Bush and his family, and that they will continue to gain strength from You. We pray for Mrs. Bush to come home safely after her courageous trip abroad. We ask Your blessings on all who need your help today.

We pray for our military troops as they are protecting us from harm and serving so bravely in the military. May their families fine comfort in knowing that we care for them and thank them for their service.

We ask these blessings in Your Son's Precious Name, Amen.
