Pray for President Bush ^ | 4/7/05 | kayak

Psalm 119: 10-12
With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
Blessed are You, O LORD!

Heavenly Father,

We come together in praise and prayer, seeking Your guidance and lifting up our voices in gratitude for Your goodness and Your mercy towards us. We thank You for Your Word - both the written word that you have given us for instruction, admonishment, and inspiration; and also the Word, Your only begotten Son, who took on the form of man to die for our sins that we might have everlasting life and fellowship with You. We praise Your Holy Name and we ask that You take our lives and use them to Your glory, now and forever.

Lord, we praise You for the life of John Paul II and for his witness that has even transcended his life, for we have rejoiced to hear Your Name spoken repeatedly and reverently during the last week of television coverage. We pray for the safety of all those gathered in Rome for his funeral and we ask that You use this event to touch the hearts of those who do not know You.

Lord, we are grateful for a President who speaks of his faith and who seeks You with his whole heart. Continue to lead him and give him strength that he might not wander from Your commandments. His enemies seek to bring him down but we trust You to watch over him and protect him.

We also lift up to You those who serve our nation in the military. They make great personal sacrifices to defend and spread liberty and we are grateful for these men and women, serving at home and abroad. Give them courage and wisdom and keep their families held close to Your heart.

Father, we see the decadence in our nation; the immorality; the greed and self-centeredness; the desire to remove even the mention of Your hallowed Name from public places and we are filled with sorrow. How much greater the pain must be for You, our Creator! Lord, we ask that You bind the hands of satan and send Your Holy Spirit across the face of our land, seeking those who are lost and bringing to them conviction of their sin that they may repent and turn to You. Forgive us, O Lord, and bless us. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Our Gracious Savior,

We come before Your Throne with Thanksgiving, in Love, Glorying in the God Who Rules Eternally, with Grace. Our Hearts Arise to Thee, Sweet King, our Beloved, Kind, and Ever-Merciful Redeemer. Thou art our Strength and our Joy in Trying Times, and to You, O Lord, we Offer our Worship and Praise. Thank You, Dear Savior, for Acomplishing our Salvation, and for Your Promise to bring us into Your Holy Presence Forevermore.

We Lift to You now our dear brother-President, Imploring Your Goodness to Surround him, to Your Praise. Protect him always from those who Hate Your child, backing him up with All the Power of Heaven. Draw him Ever Closer to You, Great King, Your Presence Surrounding him and Supporting him, Day by Day. Make him like Christ, our King and our God, that the Unregenerate may see You, and be Granted Faith in Your Name.

We Thank You and Praise You for our Military, Great God, Beseeching Your Protection to Abide over every Life. Strengthen them, Comfort them, and Empower them with Your Might, Granting Multitudes of Victories, through the Grace of Jesus Christ. Go with them as they return Home to Civilian Life, Bestowing upon them the Manifold, Great Blessings of Heaven.

We Repent before Thee, on Behalf of our Nation, Ardently Desiring a Return to the Godly Paths. May Your Blessed Holy Spirit Breathe upon many Lost Sinners, Regenerating them, and Making them Sweet Trophies of Grace.

We Pray, Merciful Master, for Your children in this Worshipful Place. Whatever they Need, Thou Knowest it, our Mighty King; please Help them from Your Storehouse of Treasures and Blessings. Thank You, Papa-Father, for every Soul who comes Here to Pray.

We Pray for the Peace and Salvation of Israel, that Nation You have Chosen, and Love so very Well. May that Day come soon, O Father Jehovah, when Israel will be Highly Exalted, through Your Merciful Grace. We Thank You for Hearing our Petitions, Risen Lord, as we Pray in the Name of His Majesty the King, amen.

AMEN KAYAK AND AMEN ALL!

"If they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?"
- Luke 23:31

Among other interpretations of this suggestive question, the following is
full of teaching: "If the innocent substitute for sinners, suffer thus,
what will be done when the sinner himself -the dry tree-shall fall into
the hands of an angry God?" When God saw Jesus in the sinner's place, he
did not spare him; and when he finds the unregenerate without Christ, he
will not spare them. O sinner, Jesus was led away by his enemies: so shall
you be dragged away by fiends to the place appointed for you. Jesus was
deserted of God; and if he, who was only imputedly a sinner, was deserted,
how much more shall you be? "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" what an awful
shriek! But what shall be your cry when you shall say, "O God! O God! why
hast thou forsaken me?" and the answer shall come back, "Because ye have
set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will
laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh." If God spared
not his own Son, how much less will he spare you! What whips of burning
wire will be yours when conscience shall smite you with all its terrors.
Ye richest, ye merriest, ye most self-righteous sinners-who would stand in
your place when God shall say, "Awake, O sword, against the man that
rejected me; smite him, and let him feel the smart for ever?" Jesus was
spit upon: sinner, what shame will be yours! We cannot sum up in one word
all the mass of sorrows which met upon the head of Jesus who died for us,
therefore it is impossible for us to tell you what streams, what oceans of
grief must roll over your spirit if you die as you now are.
You may die so, you may die now.
By the agonies of Christ, by his wounds and by his blood, do not bring
upon yourselves the wrath to come! Trust in the Son of God, and you shall
never die.

c.h.spurgeon

Joh 15:16 "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
17 "These things I command you, that you love one another.
18 "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.
19 "If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
20 "Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.
21 "But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.
22 "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
23 "He who hates Me hates My Father also.
24 "If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father.
25 "But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.'
26 "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
27 "And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
(NKJV)

Heavenly father, as we gather to pray for President Bush, we would pray also for all world leaders and that all in Rome will have safe trips back to their homes.

We pray for our military men and women and that they will all be home safely soon.

We ask these blessings in Your Son's Precious Name, Amen.

Amen

We continue to thank You, Lord, for working in our judicial system. Bring the righteous judges into favor and remove those who would work against Your principles and precepts. We earnestly seek You for judges with a correct balance. We pray for an overhaul, Lord. Grant our President and his staff the wisdom and insight they need to nominate those whom You have chosen to serve us.

We give You all the glory for our peaceable and godly lives. Thank You for the work that You have begun in us. We especially thank You that You will faithfully complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. Make us living memorials to Your goodness and the benefits of such a great salvation. Open doors of utterance and fulfill our hearts' desires for the opportunity to serve You by ushering in souls to Your Kingdom.

We love You and give You the praise in Jesus' name. Amen.
