How grateful we are that You do not change - that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. This brings us comfort and stability for we know that You are our Foundation and our Anchor in the storms of life. When our world is in tumult, You and Your Word are constant and immutable.
We acknowledge that many in today's world wish to distort Your Word to suit their own needs. They want to say that Your commandments are for days gone by. Lord, we pray for Your Holy Spirit to convict these people of the error of their ways and their thoughts. Let them come to know that Your Way is the only Way to righteousness and that the road to the Cross is the only path to salvation. Bring revival to our nation, O Lord, that we may be a culture of life, despising immorality and greed and self-centeredness.
Father, we pray for President Bush. His burdens are heavy and his enemies are legion. Inspire him and keep him humble, relying on You for strength, wisdom, and guidance. Let his faith grow stronger each day as he turns to Your Word and spends time in prayer. We are so blessed to have a First Couple who are faithful in their love for You, each other, and our nation. Let their devotion to each other be an example to others of what marriage is meant to be. We thank You that their relationship is a refuge and a comfort to them for the political world they inhabit is vicious and destructive. Watch over both of them and keep them safe.
Lord, each day many of our troops face danger from a cowardly and evil enemy. Be their Shield and their Defender. Let Your Holy Spirit minister to them so that they know that they are not alone even though they are far from home and family for You are always with them. Be a healing Balm to those who have been injured, physically or emotionally; and hold close to Your heart the families of those who have given their all. We ask these things in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Let us join together in prayer for our President, our troops, and our nation.
We earnestly pray for our legislatures, grant them the serenity of a job well done. So much bickering now taking place as to the elections of our Federal judges, open their eyes as to the devisivenss they spread,.......We pray for the health of our President..for the troops still stationed in far away places...for all our friends here on Free Republic...In Jesus name we pray

O Lord my Lord,
This is thy day,
the heavenly ordinance of rest,
the open door of worship,
the record of Jesus’ resurrection,
the seal of the sabbath to come,
the day when saints militant and triumphant
unite in endless song.
I bless thee for the throne of grace,
that here free favour reigns;
that open access to it is through the blood
of Jesus;
that the veil is torn aside and I can enter
the holiest
and find thee ready to hear,
waiting to be gracious,
inviting me to pour out my needs,
encouraging my desires,
promising to give more than I ask or think.
But while I bless thee, shame and confusion
are mine:
I remember my past misuse of sacred things,
my irreverent worship,
my base ingratitude,
my cold, dull praise.
Sprinkle all my past sabbaths with the cleansing
blood of Jesus,
and may this day witness deep improvement
in me.
Give me in rich abundance
the blessings the Lord’s Day was designed
to impart;
May my heart be fast bound against worldly
thoughts or cares;
Flood my mind with peace
beyond understanding;
may my meditations be sweet,
my acts of worship life, liberty, joy,
my drink the streams that flow
from thy throne,
my food the precious Word,
my defence the shield of faith,
and may my heart be more knit to Jesus.

Father, we ask for the Spirit of Truth to reveal to our President when he hears lies. We know that the helmet of salvation protects his mind and thank You for so liberally providing it for him. Fill him with the knowledge of Your word through the revelation of Your Holy Spirit.
Thank You, Lord, for Your great love for him and us. We bless You in the name of Jesus. Amen.
