Matthew 5:3-11

"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

Heavenly Father,

It is an honor and a privilege to join with other prayer warriors each day to praise You and to offer our petitions before You. We ask that You be with each of these brothers and sisters in the faith, watching over them and meeting their needs.

We are grateful for the many blessings that You bestow upon us but need constant reminders that all that we have comes from You. In a land of plenty such as ours, it is easy to fall into the practice of thinking that we have earned what we have. Lord, keep us humble and relying on You, acknowledging that without You we are nothing and have nothing. It is through Your goodness and mercy that we have the means to gain the material possessions that we own. But these pale in comparison to the spiritual gifts that You have bestowed upon us, the most precious of which is salvation. Lord, we have no words to express the depth of our gratitude so we simply offer our lives up to You. Use us according to Your will and to Your glory.

Father, tonight our President spoke again of his faith and how it influences his life. It is refreshing to have a President who speaks so openly of his Heavenly Father and who looks to You for guidance. We admire his patience with those who revile him, in part because of his love for You. Keep him on the path of righteousness, Lord, and place within him Your wisdom. Be his Protector and Defender and keep him true to Your commmandments.

Lord, we pray without ceasing for those in our military. They risk their very lives, often in places far from home and family, in order to defend our nation and spread freedom to other parts of the globe. Let them know that a grateful nation appreciates their service and sacrifice.

Lord, in Your infinite wisdom, You inspired our forefathers to found a nation based on faith and sound principles. Yet today there are many who would toss aside the tenets which have stood the generations in our history. Restore in our people a desire to keep Your commandments; to revere life; and to abhor that which is evil, debased, and destructive. Let us once again be a nation that sees You and hallows Your Name, hungering and thirsting for righteousness. In the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Christ. Amen.

AMEN KAYAK AND GODBLESS ALL THAT STOP AT THIS PRAYER MISSION

"Thou art my hope in the day of evil."
- Jeremiah 17:17

The path of the Christian is not always bright with sunshine; he has his
seasons of darkness and of storm. True, it is written in God's Word, "Her
ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace;" and it is a
great truth, that religion is calculated to give a man happiness below as
well as bliss above; but experience tells us that if the course of the
just be "As the shining light that shineth more and more unto the perfect
day," yet sometimes that light is eclipsed. At certain periods clouds
cover the believer's sun, and he walks in darkness and sees no light.
There are many who have rejoiced in the presence of God for a season; they
have basked in the sunshine in the earlier stages of their Christian
career; they have walked along the "green pastures" by the side of the
"still waters," but suddenly they find the glorious sky is clouded;
instead of the Land of Goshen they have to tread the sandy desert; in the
place of sweet waters, they find troubled streams, bitter to their taste,
and they say, "Surely, if I were a child of God, this would not happen."
Oh! say not so, thou who art walking in darkness. The best of God's saints
must drink the wormwood; the dearest of his children must bear the cross.
No Christian has enjoyed perpetual prosperity; no believer can always keep
his harp from the willows. Perhaps the Lord allotted you at first a smooth
and unclouded path, because you were weak and timid. He tempered the wind
to the shorn lamb, but now that you are stronger in the spiritual life,
you must enter upon the riper and rougher experience of God's full-grown
children.
We need winds and tempests to exercise our faith, to tear off the rotten
bough of self-dependence, and to root us more firmly in Christ.
The day of evil reveals to us the value of our glorious hope.

C.H.SPURGEON

Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
(NKJV)

Thank you, Kayak.

Great is Your faithfulness, O Lord our God. Develop in our President and in each of us complete faithfulness to Your will and Your way. Order our steps and teach us to hear the still small voice that says, "This is the way. Walk in it."

Grant our President and his family time to study to show themselves approved to you and time to enjoy fellowship with each other. Thank You, Spirit, for ordering the steps of Barbara and Jenna and giving them a clear vision of Your calling on their lives.

We bless You always in the name of Jesus. Amen.
