Psalm 27:1

The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?

Heavenly Father,

You bathe Your children in light, showing us the path of righteousness and dispelling the shadows of the unknown that cause us to fear. Through the sacrifice of Your Lamb, You have defeated the evil one, assuring those who acknowledge You as Lord and Savior of eternal salvation. Because You are in all our tomorrows, we can face them with the peace that passes understanding. We praise You, O Lord God Almighty, and rejoice to call Your hallowed Name!

Lord, spiritual warfare is being waged in our nation as the forces of darkness seek to banish Your Name from public places; as they work to drive wedges among believers and stir up strife and division; as they urge the acceptance of deviant and sinful behaviors as normal; as they dare to take upon themselves the very power over life that is Yours and Yours alone. Bind the hands of satan, O Lord! Strengthen Your children, giving us courage to stand strong against those who would destroy the very soul of our nation. Let all of us hear the calling of Your Holy Spirit Who brings unity and harmony and who shows mankind his sinfulness and need of redemption. Revive our hearts, O Lord, and bring renewal to our nation, restoring to us a time of more innocence, trust, and morality.

Father, our President continues to be assaulted verbally and threatened physically. We thank You for Your protection of him and for Your continuous watchfulness over him and his family. Lord, equip him with Your whole armor that he may deflect the lies and deceitful words thrown at him and that he may remain in Your truth. Protect him on his upcoming trip and place Your words in his mouth; Your wisdom in his mind; Your peace in his heart.

Bless our military, at home and abroad, as they serve our nation and work to spread liberty to other nations. Let them know Your presence with them as they face ruthless enemies who have no regard for life. Encourage them as they carry out their mission. We pray these things in the Name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

AMEN KAYAK AND AMEN ALL!
GRACE TO ALL BRETHREN!

God of all sovereignty,

Thy greatness is unsearchable,

Thy name most excellent,

Thy glory above the heavens;

Ten thousand minister to thee,

Ten thousand times ten thousand stand

before thee;

In thy awful presence we are less than nothing.

We do not approach thee because we deserve

thy notice, for we are sinners;

Our necessities compel us,

Thy promises encourage us,

Our broken hearts incite us,

The Mediator draws us,

Thy acceptance of others moves us.

Look thou upon us and be merciful unto us;

Convince us of the penalty and pollution of sin;

Give us faith to believe, and, believing,

to have life in Jesus;

May we enter into his sufferings;

Let us see thy hand in the instruments of our grief,

rejoicing that they are from thy over-ruling

providence.

Let not our weeping hinder sowing;

nor sorrow, duty.

While living in a world of change let us seek

the abiding city.

Be with us to our journey’s end

that we may glorify thee in death as in life.

We bless thee for preservation, supplies, mercies,

and to thee, keeper of souls, we commit

all we are and have.

May no evil befall us,

no sickness come nigh us,

no horror disturb us!

May our conscience be clear, our hearts pure,

our sleep sweet!

And with the innumerable company who neither

slumber nor rest

we join in ascribing blessing, honour,

glory and power

to the Lamb upon the throne,

for ever and ever.

A PURITANS PRAYER!

"I will be their God, and they shall be my people."
- 2 Corinthians 6:16

What a sweet title: "My people!" What a cheering revelation: "Their God!"
How much of meaning is couched in those two words, "My people!" Here is
speciality. The whole world is God's; the heaven, even the heaven of
heavens is the Lord's, and he reigneth among the children of men; but of
those whom he hath chosen, whom he hath purchased to himself, he saith
what he saith not of others-"My people." In this word there is the idea of
proprietorship. In a special manner the "Lord's portion is his people;
Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
" All the nations upon earth are his; the whole world is in his power; yet
are his people, his chosen, more especially his possession; for he has
done more for them than others; he has bought them with his blood; he has
brought them nigh to himself; he has set his great heart upon them; he has
loved them with an everlasting love, a love which many waters cannot
quench, and which the revolutions of time shall never suffice in the least
degree to diminish.
Dear friends, can you, by faith, see yourselves in that number? Can you
look up to heaven and say, "My Lord and my God: mine by that sweet
relationship which entitles me to call thee Father; mine by that hallowed
fellowship which I delight to hold with thee when thou art pleased to
manifest thyself unto me as thou dost not unto the world?" Canst thou read
the Book of Inspiration, and find there the indentures of thy salvation?
Canst thou read thy title writ in precious blood? Canst thou, by humble
faith, lay hold of Jesus' garments, and say, "My Christ"? If thou canst,
then God saith of thee, and of others like thee, "My people;" for, if God
be your God, and Christ your Christ, the Lord has a special, peculiar
favour to you; you are the object of his choice, accepted in his beloved
Son.

C.H.SPURGEON

SOLI DEO GLORIA!

Thank you for your faithfulness, Kayak.

Lord, we are so very grateful that Jesus is Lord and none other. In Him, we have hope. In Him, all things are possible. In Him, we have eternal victory. In Him, we can live, move and have our being. In Him, we can approach the throne of grace and ask for mercy in time of need.

Father, we are in time of need. We intercede for favor for our President and for those ideas which are of You. We pray for an overhaul of the judicial system. We pray for righteousness and truth to prevail in our media. Above all, we pray that those in authority, those judges, those people in the mainstream media would come to the knowledge of the truth that Jesus is Lord. Through the goodness of Your Spirit, convict them concerning righteousness and magnify that God-sized vacuum in their hearts. Pour out of Your Spirit, great King. We are in need of grace and mercy.

We are grateful to be Your children and agree together for the manifestation of Your love. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Joining all of you here in prayer for President Bush today and for all of our troops as well.
Business has kept me off the site for a few weeks except for short "drive-byes" to caheck out some of the Headlines...it's nice to get back to reading the Prayers For President Bush...my "batteries" needed recharging and these threads are just the ticket.
