BAGHDAD , Iraq – Acting on intelligence sources and tips provided by Iraqi citizens, Multi-National forces conducted simultaneous raids in the Rahwah and Karabilah regions to capture or kill terrorists within the Abu Musab al-Zarqawi network.

Multiple sources of intelligence indicated that elements of the Abu Musab al-Zarqawi terrorist network were operating in the area, including key lieutenants, suicide bombers, and a contingent of foreign fighters. Multi-National forces engaged and destroyed these targets.

Operations against suspected foreign fighter strongholds resulted in killing over a dozen terrorists and foreign fighters. Specifically the bodies of three Saudis and one Moroccan have been identified and others are being sought within the destroyed buildings. No other information is available at this time concerning the identity of the terrorists.

Coalition forces also destroyed car bombs, bomb-making material and 8 buildings that contained large weapons caches to include explosives, small arms, hand and rocket-propelled grenades, and a large amount of ammunition to include armor piercing 7.62mm rifle rounds.

As seen in Operation Matador, Coalition forces will continue to root out these safe houses which facilitate the movement of foreign fighters, weapons and money from Syria into Iraq , as well as any VBIED factory. Coalition forces continue to aggressively pursue elements of the Zarqawi network.

To keep terrorists and foreign fighters from killing Iraqi citizens and to help instill peace and stability in Iraq, provide information on terrorists and former regime members by calling the nationwide tips hotline at 778-4076 (within Baghdad) and 1-778-4076 (outside of Baghdad.)

We've passed the tipping point. The Iraqi people are now engaged in this fight, they are no longer afraid and they will continue to turn these guys in one right after the other. The terrorists will find no resting spot now.

I read that, wasn't that hysterical? And the fact that it was in a Sunni neighborhood is even more astounding.
