Hundreds of folks turned out on the steps of New London's city hall to support the property owners in imminent danger of losing their homes to eminent domain.
The crowd numbered in the hundreds, at least, and they and we were a boisterous lot with the favorite chant being, "LET THEM STAY".
I would have changed it to "Tar and Feather Justice Souter and the 4 Theives" but I was overruled.
At any rate it had a certain flavor of the 60's with an elderly folk guitarist writing and playing a song supporting property rights. I loved it. LOL
A couple of state congresscritters were there promising to do something about the situation, sorry but I didn't catch their names.
5 of the property owners were there, see pic below on steps, vowing to fight to the bitter end. Mrs. Kelo spoke, and she was very emotional due to the outpouring of support.
My wife and I had a nice chat with Mr & Mrs Brown after the rally, two fellow Christians, though not Catholic :-}. Nice meeting you both.
My sis deadhead is hosting some pictures I took and will post shortly.
Again, the crowd was very entusiastic, very "diverse" with lots of "Don't Tread On Me" flags and American flags hung upside down symbolic of distress.

I don't doubt that... the lefties are in high dudgeon because this favors the greedy developers. They, for the most part, couldn't give a rat's patoot about property. But, the enemy of my enemy and all that, right? Just don't mistake their motives for your own, and you'll be OK, plus you'll have much greater numbers.
There is going to be civil disobedience in New London. Guaranteed. The property owners who spoke made that quite clear and to tell the truth the crowd at this particular hearing at City Hall has bolstered them. If they had any doubt of folding before, they don't at this point in time.

I kinda like the "hotel in New Hampshire" on Souter's property. It sounds like poetic justice.

The fellows to the left of the flag holder are some of the property owners holding out for their rights. The wavy haired woman in front of them is Mrs Kelo. I couldn't get a better shot because of the police line.

Well, I think this demonstration was absolutely great, I commend the participants, and feel personally inspired by it to try and organize something similar the next time we have a Government Theft here.
However, I don't equate this with violence, nor am I enthusiastic about the idea. Violence against a sheriff enforcing a vacation order? Violence against a mayor?
I think such acts would cripple the Conservative Republican movement and play directly into the Democrats hands. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if the Hard Left would generate some actions of this kind of its own, utilizing agents provacatuers.
The Hard Left has, at least for the past few years, been cultivating phony groups of former Leftists who have turned 'conservative'.
I know this for a fact because I have known some of them personally for many years (when they were lefties) and can see through them now.
So, keep up the good fight, and be wary of tricks.
